I don't know if I agree with that since here in the Uk it seems like every Tom, Dick and Mary with a recipe is flogging a cookbook. And I say this as a devoted foodie.Writing a cookbook is a labour of love. It's a lot of work and you don't make much money from it [unless you're Nigella or Jamie or Emeril]. It is definitely something you do just because you love food.

He looks like such a douche.
When your daughter plays "House," she pretends to be an annoying doctor with a pill-addiction and a limp.
I wrote that wrong but you guys still got what I was saying...
What I meant to say was, They are the same ages as my father and I.
And it IS weird. I can't imagine marrying a man my father's age.
It's weird and GROSS. EW! And yes, Sweetness, if my dad got with someone my age I would totally think he was pervy.
Whatever, I love Billy Joel's music and I can't really think badly of him.
No matter what anybody tells you, words and ideas can change the world
^^ I still do like his music, too. Even if he's a perv. LOL![]()
aabc it is called Olive and Peach but it stopped updating in September 2006.What is the url for her blog? I love food blogs and I'd like to take a peek.

I don't know how I missed your response KristiB, sorry about that. /rubbing eyes
I watched the interview on Oprah Monday. She actually seemed quite mature and held her own. She also grew up cooking with her grandmother & mother so it was in her blood to cook. She claims she didn't know who Billy Joel was when they met and she may not have since she was so young. I would not marry someone 30yrs older, but hey they make it work and seem happy.
Personally he's a tad bug-eyed for me to find remotely attractive, but I do like his music![]()
Yeah, but a cookbook is seldom a profitable venture. I know a couple of people who have published several cookbooks between them and they definitely don't do it for the money.
There are many women willing to marry/date older men for the lifestyle.
My Dad is 64 and he has three girlfriends...one in china who is 34, one in thailand who is 28 and one in the us who is 45. And yes, they all know he's committed to none of them. He's an international pilot and uses that as his excuse to just not be 'able' to commit. He's a good looking guy and fun, but I'm sure the fact that he's loaded and spends money like water has a LOT to do with his appeal. There's a reason my mother left him...completely immature. The appeal wears.

There will be times you might leap before you look
There'll be times you'll like the cover and that's precisely why you'll love the book
Do it anyway
I saw the Oprah episode. She was kind of annoying to listen to. At first I thought the show was about Billy Joel, but then it became obvious that the whole thing was set up to try and launch her career as a food host / author. Billy just sat there tight-lipped most of the time. She's definitely wearing the pants.
