Has she ever officially said how they met? She always seems to gloss over it and go straight to their first date. Did they meet at a gathering? Or was she the last on the list of his ring around to young celebs, waving a contract around?

^She's never stated how they met. Here's my opinion:
Tom was looking for a young new bride, and made a short list. He interviewed a few women, none of whom worked out. Katie Holmes already had a huge crush on Tom Cruise, and is probably an opportunist in her own way.

They had a meeting, and sparks flew, at least on her end. She then convinced herself that she was really and truly in love with him, and that life would be perfect. Tom Cruise, with his co$, knows very well how to phrase things and use his charisma to carefully word things with her. In all honesty, I do think he cares for her personal welfare as a human being, and perhaps loves her in his own way. Nothing is clear cut and dry, even if it is with the little fug troll known as Tom Cruise.

That's exactly the way I see it. I think that theory has been thrown around a lot and most seem to believe it. Doesn't help that they don't even lie about it, they just don't mention it at all.

^I know. And I wonder if their contract has a time limit. I will be completely surprised if they stay married past a decade. But, stranger things have happened.

I've been listening to the new Goldfrapp album and the lyrics of their next single is sooooo CO$ and in particular Katie's brainwashing. Certainly it could be about any cult or religion that takes money but I like to think it suits Tommy girls passion perfectly

I read ages ago, that Tom saw footage of Katie from the Batman movie and asked who she was. So, it was the director ...or producer of Batman Begins that apparently hooked them up. Once he saw some footage he said he had to meet her and then they met the very next day.
Or so, that story went anyways.
