Kathy Griffin's Emmy speech to be censored for television

"Suck it, Allah!" would definitely be considered hate speech by some. You may not agree, but it's certainly not hard to imagine Muslims (and non-Muslims) calling it such. So it shouldn't be any surprise that the hate speech tag is being thrown around here. I personally wouldn't classify it as such, but it ultimately is stupid and vulgar regardless.

The "suck it Jesus!" is bad, but she always says suck it, which doesn't make it less offensive, but she wasn't saving the "suck it" JUST for Jesus ya see? I dunno, she was definitely vulgar and I had a little, "damn lady!" moment, but I still chuckled and I think she's funny.

I don't really care if E! decides to censor her speech, since their main priority is to make money and offending a portion of their audience isn't the best way to go about it.

However, I thought the joke was pretty funny, and I might consider watching the Emmy's (only not really, because they're boring and my favorites almost never win).

I do not think they should censor her speech. She should have the right to say what she wants. If anything this just shows how sad of a person she is. She worships a plastic statue and a few minutes of fleeting glory.
