In this day and age where DNA testing to prove paternity is common, what's the point? If they're reasonably sure that William was her first, that's just as good.

Diana was practically chattel the way she was handed over from daddy's house to the husband's family. Women aren't "purchases" like this anymore. It looks bad. If the useless monarchy is smart and wants to continue...especially after that disaster...they'll take into their family women who are stronger, smarter, more accomplished and independent. Diana didn't even come close to acheiving this until long after the marriage and kids...not to mention despair of realizing that she was merely a breeder (with a prior intact hymen) for the royals, whose husband would have been with someone else if he'd had the ultimate say in the matter.

I'm a vegetarian, so I think killing animals for any purpose is wrong. But I have a lot less tolerance for people who hunt for sport. That kind of blood lust is despicable. They should play a video game and simulate their need to kill rather than taking it out on defenseless animals. I also think it goes against the rules of nature. These sport hunters will always try to kill the biggest and strongest of any species. And in the wild, it is usually the weakest of the species who fall prey to other animals. That's how it's supposed to work in nature. The strongest survive to pass on their genes to the next generation.

I'm not quite sure what you're saying here. Diana wasn't living at home when the courtship was going on ... she shared a flat with a bunch of other girls and worked at a school. Once the engagement was announced, she was moved to Clarence House [I think], but she'd already been away from home for a little while.

There also seems to be an agreement in most of the books I've read that she knew what she wanted and she went after it and she wasn't exactly a naive innocent. If she couldn't handle it in the end, I guess it's partly her fault ... be careful what you wish for, because you might just get it!

A good deer stalker will deliver a fatal shot to the head and the deer won't know anything about it. Hardly 'cruel'. You should see what happens in abatoirs. And yes, the deer population has to be controlled in the UK just like everywhere else.

She set her sights on Charles after one of her older sisters dated him and was passed over. She was young, but perhaps not quite the innocent you might think. She came from a family where infidelity, adultery and divorce weren't exactly unheard of. One example: her mother left the family for a Brazilian polo player when she was quite young and the kids never saw her much after that. Plus, she knew about Camilla, and his other women, long before she married Charles.

If Charles had married Camilla in the first place (he had plenty of opportunity) rather than faffing about and dithering as usual and then marrying the nice young virgin his parents told him to marry then it would be interesting to see a Who's Who of the royal family today.
