Sounds like she's trying to collect from every pocket she can. It'll be interesting to see what a jury thinks.
He had an enlarged aorta, which was described as being there since birth. He should have spotted that on the scan. If he had, he could have had corrective surgery then, and had that surgery been successful this would have never happened.

I don't blame the ER doc, when you have a man in his 50's with chest pain, you think horses not zebras. With an aortic dissection, time is of the absolute essence. You wait too long, it's over.

It's true. I know an obstetrician who moved from Winnipeg to St. Paul, Minn. and her malpractice insurance skyrocketed. She pays several hundred thousand dollars a year for it and is now considering moving back to Canada. She won't make the same kind of money, but she'll have a lot less stress and hassle on the legal/insurance/bookkeeping side of being a doctor.

Interesting. Well, obviously I don't know all the facts of this case, or what the radiologist would reasonably be expected to interpret from the scan. I also don't know why he had the body scan done in the first place. And I now wonder how many opportunities there were to diagnose his problem if it had been there since birth.

Again, I guess that's up to the jury to decide.
