what bothers me is that if she doesn't want to talk about her private life, she could've just said something like "oh, i don't wanna talk about that." but instead she gave this weird answer.

^^ True, but she had just got through saying how she likes to keep her personal and professional life separate. They totally disregarded it. I suppose that's their job though.
Didn't she just get through saying how much she loved her at some award show?
^I remember she mentioned her "beautiful Cyndey" but I don't know if she used the 'love' word or not.
Um... Why do her sons have the same middle name? O.o
Oh wait... I think they're their last names. whoops. ^^;
Being in the closet must be really hard for her.
I can't imagine Cydney not already being aware of whatever it is that Jodie thinks or feels about love.
Don't worry about what other people think. They don't do it very often.
My theory is that during the interview, Foster wasn't asked about being in love directly. She was probably asked something else, and gave a response about being analytical and levelheaded. And because she didn't exactly come out of the closet, they chose to say she's never been in love. It's a half-assed attempt at piqueing peoples' interest.
It was a shitty question. Some smart ass reporter was trying to get her to come out or allude to it in some way.

I think that you can be in different kinds of love...you can love with your mind but not be sexual or it all be sexual.
Personally, I applaud her for not putting her personal life all over the place. People may not agree with some of the things she says, but I respect that she keeps her kids out of the spotlight...she sounds like a pretty good parent to me...
This is intriguing. I have always thought I share many similarities with Jodie Foster. One, assuming she's gay, she REALLY doesn't want to divulge any info on that. I'm the same (in real life). I don't like people knowing I'm gay because it distorts their view. They go from "Al, my buddy!" to "Wow, I never would have guessed" to "Uh, hi, Al", to "What do I need from the shops, hmmm, lettuc, tomatos, cucumbers... UH-OH, don't let Allie near them!" :eyeroll:
I think Jodie is an extremely normal woman who understands herself perfectly, probably more than anybody else, and it's so annoying about these gay rumours. Obviously if she wasn't gay, she'd say so, so that's sort of an unfair disadvantage.
Anywho, love Contact, and her, and she remains very attractive even today.
