Otherwise, you are knocked out for about 5 minutes under a very light anesthetic and it is painless, and really does help when you feel like your ears are going to explode. Hope you feel better!
Crackho, that's interesting they put you out to do the procedure. When I had tubes put in my ears (turns out there was a bunch of gunk behind both eardrums, which is very common as you get older), they put a dab of anesthetic in there with a swab, then they made the incision really quickly, which hurt very briefly much like a shot would. The entire procedure was over in 10 mins. for both ears. Instantly, I could hear and I started crying, that's how bad my hearing had become. I had no idea I needed tubes until then. I guess one should ask the doctor how they do it and then the person should gauge how tolerant of pain they are, but the way mine was done the pain was minimal. Just another perspective here.

My infection was very bad and they had a lot of cleaning out to do...I know that when the first dr. did it in her office, I felt like someone was drilling my in my ears, and my ears were bleeding that very night. After going to the emergency room the next morning (that dr was in surgery and didn't return my calls, and her office simply said "well, if you feel like something is wrong then go to the E.R.," I did and was immediately taken into surgery and the tubes were taken out, and redone. That is how I met my current dr., and he told me that he always prefers to put adult patients under light anesthesia because any little movement or jerking on the part of the patient while he is working inside the ear could be dangerous.

Plus, you know that men are much bigger babies when it comes to pain, lol. I just know that I can't stand anything or anyone messing with my ears, so I would much prefer to not be "present" when they are working on them. However, after having my tonsils out and a deviated septum repaired (by my current E.N.T.) I haven't had an ear infection even once in the past 7 years (also quit drinking and smoking and doing other bad things too, so maybe its all tied in together).

So I'm the only one who can't stand her then? Good to know. She just recently went on a rant about the violence in our culture yet it's hard for me to name any of her films that don't center around violence. She's irritating. As for the beauty issue, I'm not seeing it. She can be pretty when she's all done up. Aside from that, she looks like every other surburban mom who didn't have time to get ready in the morning.

Ha, ever see the Family Guy episode where two lesbians enter a sperm clinic and say that they need "a vial of sperm and also injector shaped like Jodie Fosters nuckles"? it was too funny, sorry that was random I know...

I agree about her not being beautiful, just good looking when
completely done up. She has the same 13 to a dozen looks
as Helen Hunt.
