Awww, I loved her. When she was a guest star on all of those TV shows during the 70s, my parents thought that she was so gorgeous. She was on all of them it seemed. She worked steadily.

I loved her as Lucille Bluth.
She was married to her second husband, the actor Ron Leibman, for 36 years. When I first read it, it said she was married to him until 2019, and I was thinking, "damnit, how do you blow a marriage after 36 years???" and then I looked up Ron Leibman, and he died in 2019.

i remember downloading that movie about 10 years ago. it was pretty good, except the blood was orange. totally took me out of the realism. (just kidding, i like that movie and the original stepford wives).

I rarely watch horror films, which is maybe why she scared the shit out of me in Play Misty for Me. I slept with the lights on that night. She was crazy scary in that film.

I like the movie because it's really like very few films of that era. It has been on premium cable a lot lately and I just have a really hard time watching it -- partly because it is really sad to watch Walters' character's unchecked mental illness. And because Walters did such a good job in the role.

Some trivia I've been reading about it, and Walters:

    • Walters' first real co-starring role. And she got a Golden Globe nomination out of it.
    • Clint Eastwood's first film as a director. Don Siegel, his Dirty Harry director buddy was on hand, and even played a bartender in the movie, so he could help him through this
    • Eastwood knocked it out of the park with this movie. Got all kinds of accolades from critics. The movie came in under budget and under schedule, and made 10 times as much at the box office as it cost.
    • The film was principally written by a woman named Joyce Helms. She had co-written Dirty Harry, of all films. Was a rising star, but her life was cut short by breast cancer.
