I've had kidney infections, they put me on the floor with the pain. Is there such a thing as a "minor" one?
Don't worry about what other people think. They don't do it very often.

I guess by "minor" they mean you have not had a coronary yet! This stuff is no joking matter & can kill if not treated.

Are kidney infections much more common with women? and if so is it simply because the 'plumbing is different'?

sounds horrible.! Of course so does the idea of passing a small human through a body orifice(childbirth)..women suffer so much... *shudder*

my daughter had them all the time (until she lost 1/2 of her kidney due to UTI's) and hers started at 2 weeks old. the doc mentioned why the girls get them more, but that was 14 yrs ago lol i dont remember why.

Wow, sounds awful guys! But I just can't help being cynical whenever a celeb goes to hospital for these 'minor' reasons. I can't help wondering what work she's having done.

I've had a couple of them, I am very susceptible to UTI's which if I don't catch quick enough, will turn into a kidney infection. The most horrible pain I've been thru, other than a kidney stone. I went to the ER, OMG...I was crying. It was so bad.

It's because girls' urethras are shorter than boys' so the bacteria have a shorter distance to travel to your bladder, ureters, and kidneys. Not fair.

Same here! I know kidney infections suck on a mammoth scale, but given that Chestica appears to be no stranger to tweaking her face, I won't be surprised if she comes out with collagen injections and brand spankin' new boobies.

Plastica Simpson has to be careful of standing too close to the fireplace these days... seriously, this is probably just a bit more work... we all know Ashlee's looking a whole lot better these days so Plastica will have to update herself.

I've had 2 UTI's, and that was bad enough.
I took antibiotics for it, because I guess it never goes away on its own.
