Jessica Alba: "I Never Slept My Way Through Hollywood"

She's hot and sometimes that is all it takes to get into a movie. Amber Heard is another. She is doing stuff outside of acting that I can applaud with her Honest Company.

An acquaintance of mine works with/for her in the Honest Company. Not only is a company with great principles about their products. But Jessica is very involved, and seems to treat the people that work for her nicely. (i.e. I'm never heard any stories through the grapevine of her being demanding or rude towards people).

At this point, I think she just uses her acting career to promote her company.... I would too, if I were her.

ETA: Jessica also does a lot of charity work with her company. The acquaintance of mine is always posting pictures of FB (in a non "look-at-us" way, her FB is private to the public) of them giving away their products (truckloads) to shelters, hospitals (diapers, soap, etc.)....

That has nothing to do with sleeping with a director though. It's strange that she was pushed hard by two directors (Cameron and Rodriguez) who are especially noted for hooking up with their stars.

Every time I read about women sleeping their way to the top I get pissed off at myself that all the guys I slept with did absolutely nothing for me. How does it work? They hold out until the director promises them a role and then they give in and the director follows through? I put out for nothing!

I haven't seen her in many films, but I remember watching her in Dark Angel and thinking she was rather good. She seemed able to cope with moments of comedy (in as far as they made me laugh, anyway) as well as action and anything else they threw at her. I rather liked her. So I really don't get why she gets such a lot of flack on here. She really isn't that bad. Unless maybe she acts better for TV than for film.

On the other hand, maybe I'm just a crap judge.
