It is something a man came up with, a crazy man at that and these fools fall for it.

No kidding. Here's your big chance to tell that lunk you married exactly what you thin of him, in detail, and he has to take it because you are not responsible for anything you say during the birthing process. It's the motherhood rule.

^^yeah, how does a women vent her pain and frustration during the birthing process without yelling/groaning/cursing? This smacks of "women and children should be seen and not heard" to me. Plus, how do they get the baby to comply with the No Screaming upon entry rule?

I thought the baby was whisked away for the first week, thus stopping the bonding process before it can start.

Please. The Co$ can keep J.Lo and the Zombie. And even if she's just silent for the birth, at least we will know that for one brief shining moment of time, J. Lo was quiet. I say its a win.

You know...it was weird. I didn't scream, yell or cry, and my babies both came out quietly...didn't even cry to clear their lungs, just sputtered a bit and took some deep breaths. None of this was purposeful...it just happened that way. I was to busy breathing to yell I guess, lol.
That being said, TRYING to make things silent seems really, really silly.

I can almost believe the silent thing. When I was giving birth to my son, I was in so much pain that I didn't say a word...and I told my husband not to speak anymore (he was doing that "you're doing great!!", "Breathe!" stuff and it was driving me mad)
