It looks like somebody didn't read the board rules.

There may be a small percentage of Aniston fans who do that, but Angelina has fans that are well and truly nuts. Nutso. Freaks. JustJared.com and the site mentioned in the "everlasting triangle" thread Soulie.Jolie.com are full of crazy scary people who literally worship AJ. (I've said it before and I'll say it again-Brad Pitt is only part of their obsession because he is Ideal Manhood and his presence at AJ's side is proof positive of her awesome sexual power and prowess-it's all about Angelina to them.)
A few lone nut Aniston fans cannot hope to match the level of pathological obsession evident in hordes of AJ fans. Just because a few people are willing to defend Jennifer Aniston against truly unfair, bizarre, illogical and irrational hatred does not make them pathetic creatures who have been cheated on. It's more like push-back against a bunch of crazed lunatics.

I actually don't care. I just pick on Maniston because it's fun.

I think it's an incredibly fascinating cultural phenomenon. Here we've had a classic, even ancient story of infidelity and betrayal involving three archetypes (the virtuous wife, the Ideal Man, the Femme Fatale) unfold before our very eyes. We would be inhuman if this story didn't touch something visceral within ourselves.

^Yeah, but 3 years later? It seems like they've moved on.

^^In the context of time itself, three years is less than a grain of sand.
The story goes on because one of the players is still in flux. Those of us who root for the underdog of any story want, even need, for Jennifer to find a happy ending of some sort, and in the context of our times that means finding the perfect man to offset what she has lost. Only then, I think, will we be able to move on.

^Yeah, but in the contect of a human life span, 3 years is a long time. Please don't take this the wrong way, but people who can't move on until Chinni finds love really need a reality check, imo. It's creepy.
Irl, I always root for the underdog, but this is different because Chinni's moved on yet people are still beating a dead horse.

She hasn't moved on, she's just repeated the same steps with different people in some sick game of replacement

^^Sparkly, you must be very young. Three years is nothing.

My dear, my real life keeps moving along quite nicely thank you.
Step back a take a broader view. In observing cultural phenomena certain story lines, or narratives, fascinate more than others. This is one of them. Gossip writers, and even mainstream cultural critics, return to the story over and over for the reason I mentioned. It is not "me" per se, but society as a whole who loves a story involving ancient themes with archetypal figures.

I don't think it's an issue of not moving on in life until Jenni finds Mr Right, I think it has to do with interest in this story and how it's still there as long as she's alone and the Brangelinas are disgustingly happy together. If Jenni settles down and/or the Brangelinas implode (which could happen when they are in their seventies and people will still say that they knew they wouldn't last) this story isn't finished.
I wonder whether Debbie Reynolds got a happy ending. Eddie Fisher sure didn't, Richard Burton happened to him. I think that Jolie will leave Brad Pitt too, probably for a co-star.
