No biggie.
Most moms in my mom's group have either eaten the placenta or had them encapsulated. I don't plan on having any more children, but if I did and could afford to have it encapsulated I would.

I don't think it's a big deal. In capsule form, what's the difference between placenta and other vitamins. If the benefits were great and it was easy to do, i'd do it.

i don't know if the women in my mom's group ate their placentas. if they did, they kept it to themselves, kinda like not announcing a skidmark.

hahah That gave me a giggle, but I don't think I'd compare the two.

I'd never be able to sit and eat the placenta, but I'd be ok with pill form. There are supposed to be a lot of great benefits from it, including helping to prevent PPD. Whatever works!

if you feel you must do it, at least capsule form is less gross than placenta soup, which the parents of a friend of mine made after she was born.

Yeah. Having my ObyGyn surprise me with mine, "WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE THE PLACENTA!?!?!"(Shoves in front of my face) was enough to ensure I would never be able to even think of consuming it *gag* No one should have to see theirs close up.

If I was malnourished, living in a third world country, that would be one thing. As it was I had an overabundance of milk supply so I think I did okay without ye olde placenta capsules.
