^^That's how it is with my kids. They might watch it every once in awhile but just aren't into the whole celebrity thing, thank god. They've got more important things to worry about, like building usable weaponry and rockets out of lego and such.

I don't think people here are crazy "for not agreeing with me", but I do feel they are being narrowminded. We have rules and standards but we can always be flexible. that's all I think.

As far as I know, Jamie Lynn got pregnant on purpose. No one knows for sure who the father is. And she's supposed to be a role model, and Nickelodeon's allowing the show to air, despite that they run a huge risk by warping some of JL's fantard's minds. That to me doesn't sound very role model like. Jamie Lynn getting pregnant, purposely, would be acceptable if, say, she were..... of age. And not just being some spoiled tramp.
Just sayin'.

To be frank, if someone is expecting television networks to hold high morals and values, and help teach their children to live in polite society, then they will be disappointed. Zoey 101 or whatever the name is, will probably lose a ton of ratings, due to people not allowing their kids to watch it. Nickelodeon is doing this for money, and that's the whole reason the network is in existence. True parenting only exists at home, which is a bit sad, but unfortunately it's the truth.

My theory is that she got knocked up to get out of the crazy stage mom/star kid psychodrama she's been caught up in the past few years. Alternatively she was using protection and the pill didn't work or the condom broke. Either way, not all teen pregnancy is necessarily a bad thing or the end of the world.

I can't see the network having many options financially other than continuing the show. They generally show many of their shows for years after the production of new episodes ends, and probably rely on the money made by continuing to show the new episodes, if not reruns after they run out.
Also, having watched an awful lot of Nick as a child, they were generally fairly responsible. I remember them showing a lot of specials about various topics and Nick News (which still show in reruns). There was also more racial diversity there than on some major networks.

she didnt step up.. her momma stepped up, to the tune of 1 mil.
and if she didnt step up, the general public is pretty smart, they'd have figured it out anyhow.

Jesus. I guess that's why they say any publicity is good publicity. I still think it's messed up.

I hope Nickelodeon pulls the show because Spears is not a role model anymore--she's a teen that got knocked up.
"The network had been considering addressing the Spears pregnancy via one of its "Nick News" children's specials, hosted by Linda Ellerbee. The special would be focusing on sex and love..."
^^^That has to be the worst idea ever! Kids are going to think it's ok to have sex if you're in love even if you're 16. Just pull the show before kids find out that Spears is a teen slut.

She was never a role model...she was a kid acting on a show.
and kids are having sex, whether you want to believe it or not. It doesn't matter if you say it's ok or not, if church says it's ok, if the parents or cops or God Himself says it's ok. Kids Are Fuck-Ing.
The point is to start talking about it and educating them, and to let them understand what comes with sex, which is responsibility. Teen slut....she just got caught out there with her sex.

Jamie Lynn Takes Her Belly Fruit to the Movies
Posted by: Alyk in Jamie Lynn Spears
Since announcing her pregnancy, 16 year old Jamie Lynn Spears managed to keep a low-profile. She’s reportedly spent her time chilling for her GED and going to the movies. So what kind of movies has she checked out? Um, Juno.Sources say Britney’s pregnant kid sister is gaga over the soundtrack of red-hot flick “Juno,” which could be her own life story of a seemingly innocent 16-year-old girl who gets knocked up. “She loves it and it’s helping her through her difficult time,” our insider said. Jamie Lynn saw “Juno” with her mom, Lynne, at the Regal Union Square Stadium 14 the day before she bared her career-shattering secret.
Jamie Lynn would be a lot more interesting if Michael Cera was her baby-daddy.
