I don't think he is edging on Reese's kids. They are seeing eachother, I think it was bound to happen if they are together, and if they get married someday, he will be in the picture, might as well be supportive of them, they are not going anywhere.

No, I don't know the difference here, you can explain if you want.
I do however hope you aren't talking about that dumb saying of assume means "you are making an ass out of you and me" because that means nothing.

That is what Godparents are for...one is usually asked to be a Godparent so that they can help guide the child in the journey to be an adult: spiritually, emotionally, mentally, etc. both with the parents and in the absence of parent(s). He needed to step up to the plate on this one and I am glad that he did.
So you hate your job? There's a support group for that....It's called EVERYBODY and they meet at the bar.

The thing I don't understand is that godparents are usually (though not always) the same religion as the parents/child. ONe would assume Michelle and Heath are Christians, though I could be wrong. Isn't Jake Jewish?

I have to admire anyone who offers to help parent the child of their dead friend. I can't imagine it's easy.

I'd be more surprised and disappointed if Jake didn't step in and make the offer. He is Matilda's Godfather so I can't imagine him not broaching the subject with Michelle.

I think it's sweet. He was just offering and stepping up to his role as godfather. People would be pissed if he didn't do anything for Michelle and Matilda since they were close.

I doubt they were that close these days.

yet, this is very sweet of Jake & a good help for Michelle as well.

I realise a lot of people take the whole "god parents" thing like some big joke, but it's a serious thing. My god-parents were there for me my whole life and I always have had a sense of "if anything happened to me these people have sworn to take care of me".

You have to be very careful about who you have as god-parents... they have to be someone you really trust. I think Jake is simply taking his responsibility seriously and shouldn't be thought of any differently.

    Aw. That is so cute.

Sounds like Matilda will have plenty of people around to dote over her and tell her stories of her father.
