i think she's being smart about it. if you say you dont want kids you are a lousy person. good for her for realizing this now, instead of AFTER she's knocked up

I think it's great -- if you don't want them, for goodness sakes, don't have them.
There is something about Mariah that completely bugs me. I can't figure out what it is, but it truly, truly bugs.

I'm no fan of Mimi but at least she knows she's not mother material. I wish other women would take a good hard look at themselves and their priorities before bringing a kid in to the world. Good for her.

I admire her honesty. I do not want any children either as I know I wouldn't win mother of the year. I have no patience for kids and never have.
Good for her for realizing she wouldn't make a great mom before she started popping them out. Too bad more people don't realize that before they start bringing kids into the world they can't take care of.

I thought people who crowed about not wanting something really secretly want that thing most of all.

In fact, there are many members of this board raised by just such women.

I, like McJag, appreciate the fact that she is being honest about herself and admitting that she's too self-involved to have children.
I don't see what's wrong with that. I look at people like Madonna, Birtney and J-Lo - they are self-obsessed, fame-whoring wenches who should really consider the impact their celebrity and lifestyle will have on the children they want... which seems more about leaving a legacy of themselves than it does about a genuine desire to have children.

I respect her for being honest enough to admit that she's too selfish for kids. It's the best decision she could ever make. No one is required to bring life into this world, especially since their are already millions of hungry kids with no parents.

Thank goodness for her decision not to spawn, but WTF is with that overdramatic horseshit comment "they would make me feel violated". She sounds like an asshole. I think she shouldn't be a parent because for one thing, she has serious issues. No need to pass the crazy genes on.

Yes, but that's one thing. She used the word "violated." How the hell does having children "violate" you? Your vag? Your self-centered existence? Sure. But Mariah didn't say any of that. I have to wonder if she knows what the hell she's saying. She's another high school drop out, I believe. I think she just loves to hear herself talk, and says ridiculous shit without bothering to think about whether it makes sense.

^^Oh, that's not wrong, it's like wishing for world peace. Probably not gonna happen, but makes you feel better when you wish for it anyway.
