Hugh Grant has an incredibly dry sense of humor. Those quotes totally sound like him: he's getting the point across that of course he thinks his daughter is fantastic, but he can't gush without interjecting a dry remark or two. I think he's hilarious. His DVD commentary for that shit-fest "Did You Hear About the Morgans?" is ten times more hilarious than anything in the movie.

I agree. I love that dry, sarcastic sense of humor so I like him. Then again everyone around me thinks I'm a bitch so what do I know about people?

Not with his upbringing/background. Tbh I've never heard my dad say he loves me but I don't doubt that he does for one second.

I always say about my youngest, "I kinda like him. I think I'll keep him." I prefer not to be one of those parents who goes on and on about how their kid is so awesome, like other parents don't think the same of their kids. *shrugs*

^ haha, I say the exact thing word for word about my kids. My 4 and a half year old thinks it's funny, she gets it, but she's always had a great sense of humor and knows I joke even with a straight face.
