They've found a body, no confirmation that it's her yet.

Unfortunately TMZ posted about a body and it being her before the family was notified.

    From Twitter
Bexlewis361 - Confirming it is speculation, officers suggest that Naya Rivera and her son both got into trouble in the water due to riptides, but she "mustered the energy" to get her son back on board

So sad if that's what happened

I can't put it any other way than the image of this really broke my heart. Poor Naya.

Incredibly sad. I can't imagine what was going through her head at the time, not know if her son would, in fact, be saved.

It also puts into perspective people (not here, in general) commenting on how she let her son walk so far away from her in the video when they arrived at the lake, as if that proved she was a neglectful mother or it was suicide. Then in reality she likely gave her life to save and protect her son. This is so very sad.

Very tragic. I don't know much about the way water behaves in lakes, but I've never heard of riptides in lakes. I was reading somewhere that they also have whirlpools in this lake.

We have lots of pools and beaches around here with signs warning adults not to swim alone (or alone with a small child).

Apparently this lake is 60-70 ft deep and has FULL-GROWN TREES growing underneath the surface. So one can imagine that one can easily get tangled while swimming in the lake. I hope this place has signs warning swimmers of that potential danger because if not, that is just wrong...

^ Apparently they don't have warning signs at this lake, which is stupid.

I don't even understand this lake at all. They said on the news last night that there are full size trees on the bottom. Basically pecan trees and bushes..
