Cat Power, the longtime ex-girlfriend of newlywed Giovanni Ribisi, has revealed that their relationship ended just two months ago.
A candid interview suggests that the 37-year-old actor's marriage to model Agyness Deyn, 29, last week, was spurred by a whirlwind romance.
The 40-year-old indie singer, who lived with the actor in his Los Angeles home with his 14-year-old daughter Lucia until their recent split, told The Stool Pigeon that she had been finishing her new album 'around the time' they broke up.

The Atlanta, Georgia-born singer, who has suffered a nervous breakdown in the past, tweeted on April 20: 'I HAVE FINISHED MY RECORD'.
She told the music blog as part of an interview, published on June 18, 2012, to promote the album: 'The timing couldn't have been more distracting, to say the least. It was down to the wire and [I was] really suffering, in the end. It hurts.'

She added that Sun, the new album which is due to be released on September 4, is 'this gift I'm lucky I finished' amid 'great loss personally in my life right now'.
The singer, whose real name is Chan Marshall, also revealed that she chopped off her trademark long brunette locks as a result of the split, which she said 'wasn't really out of left-field, but it kinda was'.

The singer, whose album of new material is her first since 2006, admitted that she still loves Mr Ribisi.
'It's all good, you know,' she said. 'I love the person very much. I actually love this record very much too.'
She also revealed that she had become something of a second mother to Lucia, who is the daughter of Mr Ribisi's previous wife, actress Mariah O'Brien.
'I entered a long relationship which I really wanted to be successful,' she said. 'You know that thing we're all raised to want: a beautiful life with children? There's this part of me who wants to be a mother...I was trying to grow my personal life in a way I never did before.'

No doubt a fragile woman, the singer once suffered from severe stage fright as a performer.
After a history of substance abuse, she was often seen on stage literally crippled by her anxiety as she attempted to perform her music.
The past two years have seen a more confident performer, which was said to be thanks to her stable relationship with Mr Ribisi.
She added that time off-stage helped her re-gather steam as a performer.

'[It] was usually cured by like six days in New Mexico on a beach, topless with my best friend,' she said. 'That usually cures it [anxiety] really quick.'
Mr Ribisi's wedding to Miss Deyn came as a surprise to many, as it was not widely known that the pair were dating.
The news was confirmed yesterday in a statement from Mr Ribisi's publicist after Crown City News snapped a photograph of the couple moments before they tied the knot at Los Angeles County Registrar.

Giovanni Ribisi Low Key Marriage ...Ends with Quiet Divorce
Giovanni Ribisi is ending his marriage the same way he started it -- totally under the radar.
The "Avatar" and "Saving Private Ryan" star filed to divorce actress Agyness Deyn, citing irreconcilable differences in court docs ... obtained by TMZ.
Giovanni filed in January, but according to the docs the couple separated on December 28. They got married in June 2012 with a totally un-Hollywood ceremony -- reportedly doing the deed at the County Registrar's Office.
They don't have kids ... so their main issue will be splitting up property and assets.
This was Deyn's first marriage and Ribisi's second.

He's a very strange nut to crack. Most people know who he is and that he's a Scientologist, but there's really not much out there about him. He's a pretty quiet Scientologist.

^^^ Thank you, Llama ... he was just an amazingly brilliant man. Definitely one of my idols. He would not want to be in Hot Guys, lol. He was supposedly celibate his entire life. He had major OCD (a lot of doctors today believe that wasn't his only mental issue). He hated/feared pearls. Wouldn't shake hands or touch anyone in any way. The generally accepted story about his death is that he died almost penniless in a hotel in NYC and the FBI went in there and stole all his paperwork, journals and his safe. His ancestors have been fighting to get them back but no luck at all. A lot of his inventions are part of conspiracy theories, like the death ray/laser gun. He tried to sell it to various countries and no one was interested in it, but there are US military people that swear the US has made it and it is operational. Another conspiracy theory invention is the earthquake machine .... supposedly, he created a machine that could produce earthquakes .... during a localized earthquake where the skyscrapers in NYC were swaying back and forth, people heard this loud noise and tracked it back to a hotel room that Tesla occupied and found him frantically hammering away at the machine to stop it. People swear it happened but I don't think there's any proof. Thomas Edison took such advantage of him (that's Edison's MO) .... most (if not all, if you believe the conspiracy theories) of Edison's patents were actually created by people under his employ and then Edison would immediately run out and patent it as if it was his own, as he did with some of Tesla's inventions. Towards the end of his life, he swore he fell in love with a white pigeon (he fed the pigeons every day in NYC) and he was convinced she was in love with him. He definitely was a strange character.
I have a book that includes a few more pictures than you can find on the internet, but not much at all. My favorite one is where he's sitting calmly reading while in the middle of huge self induced electrical sparks, but it didn't work with the size limitations for avatars here. Glad to find another Tesla fan!!
