    Yay George!
Careful what you say. Somewhere out there a celebrity is looking for a three eyed, one legged cat to adopt.

The lowest point came when an adopter cried when she met him and said she would be depressed the rest of her life if she had to look at him every day.
And this is why I hate people & love animals!

Reading y'alls adoption stories warms my cold black heart!

We have rescued several dogs over the years. Currently we have two maltese (one's a rescue, the other we've had since she was a puppy). They are BFFs & I love them more than life itself. Our poor little rescue was terrified of us (and everyone & everything) the first 3-4 months we had her. Now she loves us, but still doesn't care for most other humans (she's getting better around people she sees frequently, like my mom & dad). Poor thing was a puppy mill breeding dog that was covered in shit & mats when she was rescued. I have photos of her when they found her & it's positively heart breaking that anyone could let a dog get & remain in that kind of condition. She was dumped, along with 50 (yes, 50) other mill dogs on a country road out in Denton County in October of 2012. They were all in the same dreadful condition as my little sweetie. People suck, but when I read stories of people rescuing animals, I have to remind myself that not all people suck.

If I had unlimited funds and space, I would rescue all the animals. As it is, I have three (mostly outdoor) cats and the sweetest dog on the planet. Zeej (the dog) had parvo when she was a baby and almost died. I'm still not sure how she pulled through being so sick, and at the time I wasn't sure I was doing the right thing by doing all the treatments, but it was worth it a million times over. I love my fur-family.
