There was some dumb article recently questioning whether vegans should be swallowing after BJ's. Well, many or most vegans breastfeed their babies. I think consensual acts between human adults (ingesting sperm) or beneficial acts where the giver consents (breastfeeding) doesn't violate the philosophy behind veganism. Same with eating placenta....you're consenting to ingesting your own bits and there is some basis for it being beneficial. Anyway, most people just encapsulate into pills now rather than carving it up and drinking it in smoothies. That is pretty gross.

Off topic: Sweatergawd, I think the very worst part of birth was them smashing the abdomen to get the effing placenta out! Horrible sensation.

We also mixed it with our eye drops, but that's another story.

I dunno, I'm not a vegan, but eating placenta would be as bad as eating shit. What's the difference? They're both waste expelled by the body, and they're both full of nutrients.
