She has to hit menopause eventually, I guess. I wish it would hurry up, because these two morons aren't going to quit.

Imagine a family get together 20 years from now, when all their children start having their quiverfull families.

Even if each kid only has 2-4 kids with his/her spouse, the Duggars are looking at 40-60 grandkids.

I just fail to see how this pleases God, I understand there's a passage in the bible about having loads of kids but there's also passages about killing offspring and begetting more offspring with your own daughters, etc. but I am no biblical scholar, so someone please educate me.
Baby, by the time you have kids and they're in school, no one will care about you.

I don't know if it's so much about trying to have a lot of kids as it is not impeding the will of God by using birth control. I remember reading some drivel from them that they used birth control early in their marriage and saw it as the reason that they had a miscarriage. Not sure if they viewed the miscarriage as "punishment" for it, but they believe that birth control = playing God, I think.

I don't understand how they can do that and then still go to doctors and such. So it's not okay for them to "play God" by rejecting birth control, but it's okay for medical professionals to "play God" by using all of the latest technology to keep Ma Duggar and their preemie little one alive? So God wants them to keep popping out babies and God wanted their little baby to be born early? It sounds more like the Que Sera (i.e. the let's do whatever the hell we want to reproductively and let the doctors and our other kids worry about it and whatever pops out, pops out) philosophy than a not playing God philosophy.

Unfortunately, frequent pregnancies will delay menopause.

I hate these assholes, although probably not as much as Lynnie does.

Do we have to choose just one?

A woman's right to choose is just that. It's not only applied when they make choices we agree with. If we want to be able to do with our bodies as we want, we have to give the same to someone with a different choice for hers.

    Agreed. I should rephrase that...
Do with your body what you will - but I don't personally agree with endangering one's life for someone else's beliefs...
And of course, every situation is different.

But in this case (just talking out loud here): 19 children, the last pregnancy had complications - and that doesn't include any future disabilities this child might have as she grows.
How can her uterus even hold a egg? It must be paper thin. She's endangering her life too. And god forbid- something happens, the 19 other are left without a mother, it's like they (the parents) don't even think about the their futures....
And how about the financial aspect?
Are tax payer's paying to live a lifestyle she believes in?

I don't know -I'm all for a woman's right to choose, and the freedom of choosing one's own beliefs - but I just don't agree with the Duggers (parents), period.
Like I said before, the female body wasn't "built "to handle that - if it was, we wouldn't have menopause, and we could spit out as many children until we were 80.

I just can't wrap my head around these irresponsible people and actions/decisions in this situation at this point - regardless of one's belief's, whether you believe in "protection" or not - I would think - the reality of the situation (endangering mom and child's lives, as well as future development of the child(ren), financial support, etc. ) should be considered.... after already having 19 children

    Ok, rant over

On their website under the kid's name it said he wanted to be an interior decorator when he grew up. All I remember is it was one of the twin boys and he was about 8 or 9 at the time? All the other boys wanted to be mechanics or firemen or lawyers. One lone child with a stylish impulse, wish I could remember.

I don't give a shit if she wants to practice her beliefs. By all means, have at it. Her choice and all that. However, I think she and Jim Bob should be able to support those 20 kids if they choose to have them. If they wanted to pop out 35 kids and live quietly in Arkansas, that's fine by me. It's the fact that they get a ton of free money, products, media attention and a TV show on a major cable network yet their fundamentalist beliefs and religion is actively edited out and covered up so that they appear just regular old mainstream Christian. They've never been confronted with any tough questions about Gothardism or the Quiverfull lifestyle, and none of that is ever mentioned on their TLC show.

Also, they can have as many kids as they want as long as they don't abuse or neglect the kids they already have, which they definitely do.
