I feel bad for her...She looks unhappy and isn't that a cardinal sin in Scientology? I bet she gets audited all the time.

I feel doubly bad for her because I think a lot of celebrity kids are poorly prepared to make it on their own anyway--if you add to that being home-schooled and brought up in a cult, I don't think being almost 18 means a whole lot.

Last year when I was in the states I saw that naff TV advert Keith Urban did about visiting Tennessee and he mentioned his daughter and wife, just them. Makes you think he has nothing to do with Connor or Isabella, maybe he doesn't think of them as his kids... sad.

Wasn't there a rumor that Tom Cruise strong armed Nicole and refused to allow her to have the children in Urban's presence after he relapsed right after their marriage? I wonder if that is part of it, though, I do find it hard to believe that a true mother would allow anyone to stand in the way of her spending time with her kids the way SHE wanted to...but this is Tom Cruise we are talking about.

I heard something similar. That Nicole was basically strong armed out of her kids life. Because Isabella and Connor were surrounded by Scientologists who made Nicole out to be dangerous and to be avoided at all costs (an SP in Scientology terms), the kids (being young and impressionable) wanted nothing to do with their mother.

Nicole was forced to communicate at one point by email with her kids. Typical cult behaviour - the kids get cut off completely and alienated from close family members and it happens in Scientology a lot.

Hopefully, as Isabella and Connor get older, they will get closer to Nicole again and start to distance themselves from Scientology.

It's debatable. For every heckler about Tom there are far more now that think Nicole is off her rocker. There have been so many alledged rumours her kid isn't even hers and Urban is a beard. For them to have married she can't have been completely normal right?

I think that's probably the most likely scenario - whether it's through blackmailable knowledge on Nicole or a distrust of Keith, I reckon Tom has pressured them into not pushing for the kids.

And, as someone pointed out, Tom's the sort of slimy, manipulative bastard who would fill the kids up with guilt for spending time with their mum who isn't in the cult, and then do the whole "but it's your decision" thing (with the subtext taht you must make the right decision)

I don't think Nicole "famewhores" Sunday. There aren't that many pictures of them out there. She was soooo protective of Connor and Isabella when they were babies. She wouldn't even talk about them in interviews because it wasn't their choice to be raised by famous parents. When Isabella and Connor were little the paparazzi weren't as celeb-kid crazy as they are now. Internet blogs/gossips sites weren't as huge as they are now -- it's a different world.

I'm not saying Nicole doesn't have her issues, like a poster said, anyone choosing to marry Tom would, but it seems to me that Tom has strong-armed her to no end.

Oh, I hadn't heard this part of the rumor but that is heartbreaking. Yes, it seems this is a common practice in Scientology. I hope those kids run for their lives once they become of age.

I've heard that rumor too but I am less likely to believe the one about her child not being her bio-kid. Not saying it is impossible but there have been some pretty convincing shots of her pregnant. If Nic is a lesbian, I am not sure what Keith Urban would get out of being her beard. With most other couples, you can see how it works but that one stumps me.

I'm sure that is exactly the approach used. And with the fact that they are home schooled, it must be difficult to get the exposure to conflicting and varying ideas and beliefs that are necessary to help ups think independently. Not saying this is always the case with home schooling but it is easier to manipulate a child when they have less exposure to varied human beings and belief systems.

You can see Nicole's baby is hers anyway, she does look like her. I remember Ted Casablanca commenting on the situation with her other children and suggesting something along the lines of Tom being the better parent.

Are we on this Nicole-wasn't-really-pregnant kick again? During her pregnancy, I posted pictures of her on the beach in a bikini. It was rather obvious that she was. Kind of hard to hide a belly in a bikini.
