No, calling everyone in the entire messageboard dumb, and insisting that everyone else who doesnt believe THEIR points is somehow braindead or hallucinating is a snotty attitude.

Uh, right back at ya, Grimm. As for the no borg mentality, trust me, I am far from the only person who has commented on it recently. But whatever, I fight my own battles and I've decided this one is just as pointless as all the others. I just hate to see someone else pilloried for daring to have a different opinion around these parts.

And that victim namecalling shit you keep spouting every time you and I have a difference of opinion, which is pretty much all the time, is getting really, really old. Aren't you supposed to be funny or something? Surely you can come up with something a little more original than that.

1) I dont care what other people think. I'm not part of a borg mentality, i dont have pals, i do wtf i want when i want how i want. What others say (amazingly, even in agreement with others) has no bearing on me.

2) Having a differing opinion is fine. Saying everyone else is dumb because they dont agree with you makes you a dick. Thats when you get pilloried.

Sorry you cant see #2.

God. How many times have multiple people come after me? TOns! Hell, i was battling half of APS back in the day and not once did i ever whine about it.

I just argued better and let it roll off me because its the internets and it doesnt matter. If it matters, you need to get off the internets.

People need to learn how to do this and end the whining.

Very few people have come after you in a long time, Grimm. I think if you were to read a lot of the threads on this board over the past nine months, you'll see countless examples of multiple people coming after me, and almost always the SAME people, and I've handled it damn well, and better than most. But it does get old, even if it's just the internet. I wouldn't expect you to understand that, tho, cuz according to you, that's all in my mind.

FYI, I'm NOT whining about it. Mentioning it in relation to someone else experiencing the same thing isn't whining, it's drawing a parallel.

People disagree on this site ALL THE TIME. Its only when people in the minority get snarky and rude that we have people jumping in and saying "she feels picked on! This place is so awful! Whatever happened to having a different opinion!" What the hell? You can have a different opinion, I have many times, but I can voice my different opinion in a way thats not condescending. If you condescend to people, you will get smacked down. Whats so hard about that to understand? Its not about having a different opinion, its how you talk to people. This is a great site with great people, I have disagreed with many people on here numerous times (take my perspective about how I believe the mentally handicapped are negatively talked about on this site, and how its disappointing to me). But the difference is I didn't talk down to people like they were children, and was able to back out of a thread after speaking my piece instead of stirring shit up constantly. So people CAN and DO have different opinions, its not a groupthink site here, and I really hate when people throw that out there. Its a freakin gossip board, not a political machine. Who really cares anyway. In the past few days I've experienced what I PERCEIVE as racist comments, but you brush it off your shoulders and move on. This will be the last you ever hear about it. Because its a message board, everyone feels picked on from time to time, but you move on.

Mentioning it over and over and over and over and over and over is whining. How many parallels need to be drawn before the entire planet gets the idea that you felt victimized once upon a time.

See, by beating the dead horse you just attract people who want to say STOP WHINING, whichn in turn feels like more people ganging up in a never ending orgy of self reinforced victimization.

^^Respectfully, January, you don't really know what I am talking about. The buzzwords "whining, condescending, victim, paranoia" among others are practically a reflex action whenever anyone, not just me, disagrees with a certain few people on this board. I don't believe that every single thing I've written every time I've disagreed with anyone on this board has been condescending. Of course, now the knives will come out, but frankly, they don't hurt ME any more. I just get a little queasy when I see other people coming in for the same bullshit treatment.

I know that many other members feel the same way I do but don't say so publicly because they don't want to be put in the hotseat, and who can blame them? I no longer give a shit about what anyone thinks of me on here. I used to, but no longer. I can't do anything about it anyway.

You could be right. Maybe you were victimized in the past, I don't know. And you're right, I don't know what you are talking about - and I think most posters would agree with me, and therein lies the problem with talking about it on public threads. All I know is that I have been here posting regularly now for months, and I haven't seen anyone personally being victimized within that time. If these past incidents were so hurtful (and its very possible that they were) then its something that needs to be discussed with the people that called you names or whatever. But respectfully, interjecting yourself in conversations where clearly no one is being ganged up on and dredging up your past experiences here (when half the people don't even understand what experiences you are talking about) is very tedious. Its clear that you are still having much aggression regarding your past experiences, even if you say people can't hurt you, its obviously not true. I would be hurt if I felt personally attacked, perceived or real. And maybe thats justified in your case, hell I don't know. But I do know that it must have happened way before I became a regular poster, because personally I've never seen you ganged up on. I have seen you however regularly talk down about the site and the groupthink mentality here, which really baffles me. It doesn't even seem like you like the site on some days. Because unless things go on here that are really behind the scenes, then I think the majority of us are probably in the same boat as me and just don't know what the hell is going on, since it hasn't been present on the actual board. I think people here just want to be snarky towards celebs and have a good time, which gets ruined when threads take a bad turn and nobody even understands what the hell is going on. I'm sorry that you felt victimized by whatever happened to you. But seriously it sucks that its brought up on several threads, and then to be told "you don't understand what I am talking about." Well, maybe thats the problem, since these are public threads, it needs to be discussed with the people who really do understand what happened to you in the past. And this is just MY opinion, which I am entitled to. And I am sorry if someone hurt you before. I know it sucks.

Hold on, january. I genuinely feel that nwgirl and others, HAVE been ganged up on. That and only that, is the reason I "interjected" myself into this thread. And don't I have a right to post in any thread I want at any time, just like any other member here? As for me being aggressive, I'm sorry you feel that way. I'm quite surprised you've never noticed anyone being ganged up on at GR, including me. I can point you to literally hundreds of examples. Threads take a bad turn when anyone who doesn't agree with a select few posters here gets mugged and dares to fight back.

How have I talked down to you or others, january? Because as far as I'm concerned, this is a lie that's been repeated so many times it's become true. I'd like to see some examples, because if I'm going to be constantly accused of these things, I need to know how, why and where they are happening. I am truly not doing it deliberately and I posted at this board and APS for more than two years without that ever being said about me by anyone. So it's kind of odd to me now that every single thing I post is considered condescending by some when I haven't changed my posting style one iota in the 3 years I've been on GR and APS.
