Stupid keyboard. Now I have to start from scratch! ...As I was saying: I've done an EMBARRASSING amount of research into this, and I don't beleive for a theta-second that Katie ran and/or walk) that whole marathon. I can't point to one single reason -- it's a combination of MANY odd/suspicious circumstances (some stranger than others) that have me totally convinced. They include (in no particular order):
1) Runners are given timing "chips" to wear on their
shoelaces. NO chip can be seen on Katie's shoes (or anywhere else) in ANY of the photographs.
2) Katie was obviously running with two "bodyguards" (BG) wearing bibs
#28994 and
#6074. In photos,
both BGs are clearly seen wearing CHIPS on their shoes -- even as they cross the finish line! Yet in the official race results, #6074 is NOWHERE to be found! The man was CLEARLY wearing the chip as he crossed the finish line, yet NO time is registered for him?! Very, VERY odd.
...It's also interesting to note that he crossed the finish line
right next to Katie, and
just behind BG #28994, whose official time
5:13:37, compared to "Katie's" time of
5:13:38 -- just 1 second ahead of Katie.
3) While we're on the topic, whoever "mystery runner" #6074 is, I'm SURE he's been informed of this controversy. So why not identify himself and volunteer some explanation for why he doesn't exist in the marathon records? ...Maybe because he doesn't HAVE an explanation?
4) Katie's pants. I don't care if you would/wouldn't wear pants to run 26 miles - that's not the point. The POINT is that those pants "conveniently" covered the laces of her shoes - in EVERY photograph. Just a coincidence, I'm sure.
5) The lack of a
sports bra. From the looks of the photos, I am (unfortunately) just about the same cup size as Katie, and believe me -- I'm in pain if I run to the MAILBOX in a flimsy bra! Running a freaking marathon without a sturdy support bra? Not a chance.
6) Photographers are
everywhere, yet photos of Katie are taken at only 2 points in the race. Also, BG #6074 was photographed at other times during the race, with
no sign of Katie. Hmmmm... Isn't it his JOB to stick next to her??
7) No other runners have come forward to say they saw her running midway through the race. Not
ONE. Yet
others have come forward to say they started the race just before her, and finished just after her, yet they NEVER saw her pass them by.
8) Isn't it odd that not a single SPECTATOR recognized her along the 26-mile route, and snapped a photo?
9) Prior to the marathon, did anyone even know that Katie liked to run? The girl is photographed
constantly, yet not
once was she snapped while running.
10) I don't care what shape you're in, at the end of a 26-mile ANYTHING, you're gonna break a sweat. (Especially when you
obviously didn't have time to "train" adequately.) Oh, and when you're actually exerting yourself, you're MUCH more likely to be peeling OFF clothes as you go, not pulling on a jacket.
11) As to the "WHY do it" questions - I'd say there are two:
Q1] WHY fake running a marathon in the first place??
A1] Umm.. Sadly, the same reason you'd go along with a sham of a marriage. You're horrifically insecure and will go along with whatever stunt your husband-master-overlord suggests. Tom had a movie to promote,
plus he wants to show that Katie is "normal" and "healthy"... What better way than showing up (on her own!) and running the NYC marathon?
.... The only hitch is Katie is NOT a runner, and therefore probably couldn't even pull off a 5k! (Believe me - a LOT of thin people
despise running/ have zero stamina.) Plus, even if she managed to finish, there's no
way she would've looked so "Scientology-Perfect" at the finish line! And in the end,
appearances are ALL that really matters... RIGHT, Mr. Mapother?
.... The solution?
Fake it! As we all know by now, Scientology (+ money) can make ANYTHING happen.
Q2] Why "fake" a
5-hour finish time?
A2] Because, as WACKED as they are, they're not stupid. (At least
Tom isn't.) They knew they were taking a chance with this stunt in the first place. If she'd had a strong/impressive finish, people would've questioned it all MUCH sooner...
I probably have a few more reasons to add, but I'm tired of typing! I think I've made my point.
