I hope that they investigate too, because the NYM is a really respected race, this in some ways is making a mockary of it. Even if they prove that she did run(walk) it all, it needs to be investigated.

Katie finishes race wearing FDNY hat and there is some kind of CO$ charity tie in. It's a big freaking PR event down to the finish line photo with TC kissing Katie and her parents looking on from the sidelines.

Why did they wear bibs if they were registered? How did she get an elite runner's number? How do the FDNY feel about her wearing their logo? Enquiring mind want to know!

It would be very difficult to prove that she DID run the race by spectators' accounts. Think about it--someone in the crowd watching the race has only their viewpoint at that particular time. Even if someone can say "Yes i saw Katie run by" they can only say that she was there at that time--they can't testify that she was running up to that point or running afterwards. So if i see Katie run by and then 1/2 mile later she slips into the crowd, i am none the wiser. Even still, it's odd that there aren't people coming out of the woodwork and saying "i saw her at mile x". So it's very, very possible that she could have slipped off the course and then back on without anyone really noticing. Someone would have to see both events to be sure--otherwise anyone seeing her leave or coming back on would assume she is taking a bathroom break.

Update: Thanks to Calimoonchild on Gossip Rocks for the link to this photo on sawzy’s Flickr of Wesley Okerson, who was not registered in the NY City Marathon and wore a bib from 2003, wearing a tracking chip despite the fact that he wouldn’t need one or presumably get one if he wasn’t registered. Katie Holmes is nowhere to be found, although she finished the race alongside both Okerson and Paul Vincent as seen in the photo above. Okerson is obviously behind the smiling old guy. There are three photos of just Okerson with no Katie in sight on sawzy’s Flickr. Commentor sc on our other post about this curious issue said he was a volunteer for seven hours on the course at the same spot and that the celebrities were easily spotted, but that he never saw Holmes pass.

Why do the mystery man and P Diddy's bibs look totally different? If the mystery guy is wearing a bib from 2003 I mean.

So...maybe the mystery guy took a 2007 bib and changed the 2007 to 2003 (which, if I was going to cheat I would totally do), or the date on the mystery man's picture has been altered after the fact. (Perhaps in an attempt to help spur the conspiracy theory or cast further doubt on her story?)

A commenter on Celebitchy mentioned that even if the date on mystery dude's bib said 2007, the number on his bib was not registered in the 2007 marathon.

I don't know the veracity of that comment, but apparently you can look up bib numbers and see who was registered.

He probably took her chip and met her near the end of the race. In other words, she ran a couple of miles and he ran the whole thing for her. Like someone said, even if the bib was from 2007 he still wasn't registered. If she did run it then where was she when spectators said they saw this guy running (and in the picture of him alone)? The long pants she wore also prevent us from seeing her tracking chip (or the lack thereof). And Tom had a movie premiere on the exact same night. How coincidental. PR stunt much?

I thought she cheated all along....... and how offensive to other runners who actually finished it to claim she ran it when she didn't
