Just don't get hostile or pissy or patronise me and call me an idiot because our opinions don't match. It's about the tone of posts, not just the content. I guess like a typical critic, which I will always be even if I'm not getting paid for it any more, I'm coming onto the "battlefield" and shooting the wounded.

I was referring to the poster who was condescending in this thread and you took her side, as to when you took the side of Toronto Girl and the other girl who was banned when they were launching condescending personal attacks in the Britney thread. But seriously now. Could she have run the marathon? Of course, just like it's possible that OJ didn't kill Nicole and Ron. I can't comprehend why she would fake it, but i can't comprehend why she would marry Thetan Tom. There are a lot of things i don't understand in this world. I think there is compelling circumstantial evidence that Katie may not have run the entire distance. It wouldn't be the first time someone has cheated like this--the winner of the Boston Marathon (in 1980?Rosie someone?) was found to have cheated--started the race and finished the race but missed about 9 miles in the middle, lol.

People i know who have run marathons say that the first one is agony--no matter how fit they are and how much they have trained. I personally don't see how someone who, although may look like she is in shape, can train for 2 1/2 months, run a marathon and look the way she did at the finish line--never mind appearing that night in heels. For one thing, her feet would have been so swollen she wouldn't have been able to squish them into her regular shoes--so did she order a pair in every size so that she would have one that fit that night? How would she know how much her feet were going to swell?
Just sayin...

ETA--i just looked at a picture of her in heels that night--they were peep toe shoes which show perfect toes. Anyone who runs a marathon will also tell you that their toes take a beating--bruised, bleeding, nails are black. That's a lot of pounding those feet take.

And B. I'm not being condescending because someone doesn't agree with my opinion. If I'm being condescending about anything it's that some people who've commented on this thread have commented in such a way that I think their either being stubborn or flat out stupid. Because to me (and this is my opinion), anyone who speaks in absolutes and puts their beliefs out there like they are fact, without having any proof to back themselves up, is stupid.

Because see...here's where I'm having the problem. It's not my opinion that someone can run without a bra. It's fact. It's not my opinion that someone can run with long pants on. It's a fact. It's not my opinion that someone can run a marathon and look less than haggard at the finish line. It's fact. Those are not my opinions. These are fact.

I didn't call everyone on here morons or idiots. But if you're going to say "no way" to something, you should be prepared to back it up. Me calling people for talking out their ass is not condescending.

It's not my fault no one can back up their "no way" statements. It's not my fault people spoke without being informed. Of course it's possible she did run the marathon, I think a few people (myself included) were just pointing out that it seemed a little fishy. The fact that she didn't wear appropriate clothes, looked the way she did at the finish line, the lack of pictures in the beginning or middle of the race, and how she went to an event in heels the same night were all just a little suspicious. Now, for a normal person, I might overlook these things. But this is Tommy girl and Katie we're talking about, they're publicity whores and I believe they were even promoting something at the time. They needed some nice, normal publicity where he looks like a caring husband cheering her on. So they could have set the whole thing up. Obviously none of this is fact, it's assumptions based several factors. I think it's a bit rude to call people "morons" or "stupid" for having different opinions (as far fetched as you think those opinions might be). That's personally attacking members and it's not OK. Forums are built on different opinions and they keep things interesting, so why don't we just agree to disagree?

I'm done with this argument though, we're just beating a dead horse at this point

^^No, there's a lot more to it and unfortunately, it can't be resolved, but january was right. I'm not going to discuss it in public any more, not that I have actually discussed details for a long, long time. I mentioned it in passing in relation to what I felt was happening here, which was a mistake. I apologize to everyone for that.
