I remember the Crispin Glover interview. He was kicking his leg up over his head and came close to Dave. Dave cut to commercial and Crispin was gone. I was sad because I loved them both. I watched Dave religiously back then. I also remember how smitten he was with Teri Garr.

    That was great.

And I will definitely watch tonight. REM, really?
Me too! His morning show was hysterical. I can't stand Leno, but I'm never up late any more anyway. I'm sure he'll enjoy his millions.

Letterman used to be funny, but he's past his prime and it's time to retire. Leno was brilliant when he was writing his own material, but tiresome when he was using others to write his material. Even Carson got boring as he got older. It's a young man's game and they need to move on to new talent.

Craig Ferguson! The man rocks. He's the only late night comedian I watch when I happen to watch a late night show.

They just said something on my local news that Stephen Colbert was replacing Letterman.

I heard that too. I wonder if he's going to stay in character or just be himself.

I was hoping it would be Ferguson or even Ellen.

I like Colbert on The Colbert Report, but CBS is not Comedy Central. This will be a watered down Colbert.

I think it'll have to be the real Stephen Colbert. I don't think the Colbert Report Stephen plays to all crowds.

Colbert is similar to Letterman, smart, sort of gentlemanly and is different from the other two Jimmies, who are more immature in their comedy (at least for me.)
I think that he'll be a great host, I love his current show. I'm really interested to watch and see how a show with Colbert as himself and not his alter ego will look like.

I was really hoping for them too, especially Ellen. It's being reported Stephen won't do the show in character, and I'm going to really miss him. Maybe the really brilliant, funny guy who created Stephen Colbert is brilliant enough to create a really funny late night talk show host. But I'm really, really going to miss the Colbert Report Stephen.

Mixed feelings about Colbert but that's probably because none of us have seen him as himself (on TV anyway). We have no idea if he can be interesting as a host playing it straight.
