I'm so sad, this just cannot be true.

I know I'm not alone when I say he was my most influential musician. There will never be another like him.

RIP Thin White Duke, Ziggy Stardust, Starman, Aladdin Sane.

I want to just keep on watching youtube vids of live performances and call in sick tomorrow. He is amazing. There are so many songs and then the visuals of a true creative artist and chameleon and innovator. Genders, rigid identity "roles", all be damned and mocked and pushed away. Adore him and he will be missed.

Ground Control to Major Tom -

Original 45 single version of 'Space Oddity' issued in 1969. I remember this well from *underground* FM radio stations of the day. This version sounds exactly correct to my memory what was being played at that time. Later versions are reissued re-mixes.

Bye David, we've known you for a long time

You think you don't know many great Bowie songs but then you think again and there are lots. LOTS. RIP Starman.

I thought I'd misheard when I heard the news bulletin on the radio this morning. I mean, this is David Bowie! David Bowie can't die!

    I'm gutted. Shocked and gutted.

I never got to see Bowie live (although the other half did in '92) but I did briefly know someone who knew him and, of course, I had to ask what he was like to work with. The answer was dedicated to detail, intense, very creative and a nice guy. That's something that's nice to hear in the face of so many entitled, tantruming, famous-for-thirty-seconds brats.

I had no idea there were rumors of illness.

He was the real deal. So talented and truly ahead of his time, and thus, timeless. Rest in Peace, David.
