Ridiculous. What judge would allow this?

Sounds like their treating the Co$ contract as a legal, binding one and it's taking precedence. Isn't that like when you agree to labor arbitration (like through a union contract) vs. pursuing legal remedy through the courts?
that sounds right daphodil, but it's shitty as fuck for the victims. Their cases are as good as over. Crooked as fuck.
I was actually about to ask any of our lawyers to weigh in. did the judge even have a choice in the matter?

The way I understand it, Masterson is still up for criminal charges for what happened to Bixler. However, he is not liable for civil charges, because she and others must have signed a binding arbitration agreement as part of their induction into Scientology. I see this in legal contracts between corporate entities all the time, but not for people who are members of a church.
^ That's what it sounds like to me too. He's not off the hook for the criminal charges, but Co$ gets to decide the civil cases. Still doesn't seem right, no matter what they signed, the plaintiffs aren't members of the church anymore. But I guess they signed it for life?

Yeah the report is bad here I read later that the civil case of harassment & poisoning their dog - will go to Co$ arbitration for those who are members or were members of the church in the civil cases.
The criminal case & case of the none-co$ person is moving oh.

Arbitrators are supposed to be neutral third party persons who aren't influenced by either side. But money can make everything crooked.
I am so bummed that Cedric Bixler is a scientologist, or was.

I think Mo is right, tho I haven't read anything on this. But arbitration causes are typically for civil suits, not criminal charges.
So she can't sue in civil court for $$$ b/c she signed an arbitration agreement.

^most of them also sign billion year contracts so...
can't post pics because my computer's broken and i'm stupid
Conciliation in the civil suit conducted by the cult that covered up the abuse in the first place is.... fucked.
At least the criminal charges are proceeding.
The 44-year-old actor — who is said to be a devout Scientologist — was also criminally charged with raping three women at his Los Angeles home in the early 2000s and is scheduled for arraignment in that case on Wednesday, Deadline reported.
Bixler is the only victim named in the criminal case. She dated Masterson from 1996 until 2001 and claims she was drugged and raped, several times, in his Hollywood Hills home.
