It is. My 8-year-old son's name is Jack. Just Jack & everyone asks me if it's short for Jackson since EVERYONE seems to be naming their kids that...

i'm not surprised it's a trendy name. my friends, the baby's parents, seem to go for the fashionable names. their 2 year-old daughter also has a name that was super trendy when she was born, a little bit less now but still definitely a yuppie favourite.

Yes it is. My son is named Jackson. He's 12. Since then, it's become super popular. I'm sure it will become even more popular now.

that's what begins to happen when the trendy name trickles down from the yuppies to the chavs.

Lots of Jacksons around here. Mostly in their teens and not as a tribute to MJ.

Old trend around here at least. I swear there are at least 10 Jackson's in every class in my kid's school. They all decide to do some version of it...Jacks, Jax, etc.

I have a friend who named her kid Jaxson, stupidest spelling ever. I also have a friend who named her son Noah when it was really popular. There was so many kids in his class with that name, at one point in grade 3 I think, he changed his name to Buster!

Ha!! Good for him! I've been giving one of my nephews nicknames for years, because he has a crappy, new-aged, yuppy name. So far, he isn't tempted by any of them.
