Britney: A Timeline on One More Wild Night
It was yet another drama-filled evening for Britney Spears and yet another head-spinning turn of events for us all.
To get it straight, we've broken it all down into a handy timeline. Follow the breakups, the makeups and the high-speed cruising (her middle-of-the-street confrontation with Adnan Ghalib is some crazy stuff), all of which ends appropriately (for Britney, at least) at a local drugstore...
5:30 p.m.: A source tells E! Brit was planning to spend Monday evening with boyfriend Adnan at the Four Seasons Beverly Regent on Wilshire Boulevard. That may have been news to her, since at around that same time, she is driving around Beverly Hills with manager-pal Sam Lutfi. But even that goes awry, as sometime during their cruise, she and Sam get into a huge argument that ends at the gates of the Summit community where she lives.
About 6 p.m.: Eyewitnesses say Sam is driving Britney's car when she gets out with her pocket terrier in hand. "Go get some real friends!" Britney tearfully shouts at Sam, an eyewitness tells E!, before sitting down on the curb, barefoot, with paparazzi swarming. (Also eyewitnessed before she leaves the car: "Sam was grabbing Britney by the arm, yelling at her and manhandling her. Britney looked so angry and couldn't stop crying.")
According to a paparazzo, Britney then calls Adnan and asks him to pick her up. "Sam has been very angry with Adnan and their three-way relationship with Britney. So, he called yelling at him about how they will never get along."
6:33 p.m.: Adnan arrives at the gates, but he is rejected by the guards. Hollywood.tv has video zooming in on Adnan's text chat. It appears to read that Sam has texted to Adnan: "YOU'RE A MANIC TRIGGER. IF YOU CONTINUE TO HAVE ANY CONTACT WITH HIM, YOU'LL KILL HER. IT'S YOUR DECISION. YOU NEED TO CEASE ALL CONTACT WITH HER COMPLETELY. I'VE TRIED TO WORK WITH YOU HELPING HER BUT YOU DIDN'T DO AS ASKED. ONLY WAY TO HELP NOW IS DISAPPEAR."
8:24 p.m.: Britney bolts down Coldwater Canyon in her Mercedes to Ralphs grocery store in Studio City. Photographer Filipe Teixeira, who partied with the pop tart at her home last week, joins Britney inside the store. Exiting Ralphs, Britney hops into Filipe's car, leaving her own SL65 in the parking lot. However, she seems to change her mind, so they pull a U-turn, then head back to her house in separate cars. Minutes after arriving home, Britney emerges again in her car, with Filipe in the passenger seat, and they drive around the neighborhood talking. A source says Felipe would later tell friends he was "feeding her information about Adnan selling pictures and videos."
8:45 p.m.: While Britney is out, her father, Jamie, arrives at the gates of Summit but has to wait about 25 minutes before being granted entry. An eyewitness says, "Jamie was tearing up a lot. He was so angry and sad about the situation." Shortly after 9 p.m. Papa Spears is allowed inside the gates.
About 9:45 p.m.: Britney and Felipe are at the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Highland Avenue, when Adnan appears out of nowhere and stops traffic in front of Britney's car. He says to all photographers: "No one move," then to Britney, "You want to play games? Okay, I'll play." Britney looks terrified and decides to abandon her own white SL65 Mercedes-Benz and get into Adnan's silver S500 Mercedes. Filipe, who was in Britney's passenger seat, now takes the wheel and follows from behind.
10 p.m.: Adnan and Britney are seen on the 101 Freeway heading north at high speed, at one point reportedly reaching 120mph, says an eyewitness. As they exit the freeway, Adnan gets a flat tire on his right rear wheel. He pulls into a 76 station, but they have no spares.
10:23 p.m.: Adnan grows impatient and tries to drive his car with a flat. Britney looks frustrated and emotionally drained, say observers. Suddenly, an unidentified Toyota Camry almost runs over Adnan's photographer friend Gallo Ramirez, as Adnan's auto is being followed by paps out of 76 station. Adnan stops his car in the middle of the street and confronts the wreckless driver. The driver stays inside his car, and Adnan explains the situation to his paparazzi friends.
10:30 p.m.: Adnan makes an illegal U-turn to go to a Chevron gas station across the street. Here, Britney rushes inside to use the restroom. Rocky Shantha, the manager at Chevron tells E! Online, "Britney came into the store and rushed into the restroom. She looked determined to get in there. She stayed in there for at least 10 minutes."
10:47 p.m.: Adnan and Britney leave the Chevron. Adnan continues to drive around with a flat, making illegal U-turns and driving at speeds up to 50mph.
10:51 p.m.: Despite his car troubles, Adnan is seen laughing and smiling from ear to ear. He even winks at an eyewitness while stopped at a light.
10:58 p.m.: Britney lights herself a cigarette.
11:07 p.m.: Adnan finally pulls into Britney's gated Summit estate. Sources tell E! that mom Lynne, dad Jamie and Sam are all waiting for Britney inside, where we are told various psycyhiatric treatment options are discussed with Spears.
11:45 p.m.: An insider says, "Britney's mom was crying so much inside the house. She is so hurt and just wants Britney to get better already." At some point, Adnan leaves.
1:30 a.m.: Lynne Spears, her friend Jackie (with whom she is staying in L.A.) and Sam go with Britney to a nearby Longs Drugs, and the evening finally comes to a close.
