Exactly! It is so San Francisco 1975. Funny thing, though - it was recently "MAL" weekend in Washington, DC two weeks ago, which stands for Mid-Atlantic Leather. Its all the gay men into leather all converging on my city. The sites walking around town were hysterical! I say a guy about 70 years old with his ass hanging out of a pair of leather chaps walking down the street. And that wasn't the half of it. Talk about dead-cow-drag.
Seriously, to each his own, but that is one weekend that makes me embarrassed to be a gay man. I don't like the way the "fetish" groups sexualize everything (despite appearances on this board sometimes, lol). And it is so obvious and sticks out so much - and it is often times the only representation the straight world sees of gay men - and then they think we are all like that. The funny thing is most of these "leather daddies" aren't even masculine underneath all the leather drag, just a bunch of nelly guys exchanging cookie recipes with 20 yards of pink chiffon flying out as soon as their mouths open.
I hate to stereotype my own peoples here, but I don't get it. It is so hard to find a normal nice gay man who isn't "into" any scene and who just wants a monogamous relationship. I don't want someone who can only get off when they are tied up or in a ball gag and leather mask or in a diaper or whatever. It just ain't right. Fantasy has its place, but when you make it your entire existence (in place of love and intimacy), even if only your entire sexual existence, I really think there are some deeply rooted psychological issues going on.
And I do love leather; I just prefer Dolce & Gabbana.

Is there or did there used to be an "earring code"? In the 80's when I was a teen, straight guys wore their earring in the LEFT ear. It was understood that if you did the right ear you were gay, and both ears, you were bi.
But my very straight (as far as I know) stepbrother has earrings in both sides now. I guess that code doesn't exist anymore?

Brit Shops for Car During Intervention
Posted Jan 29th 2008 3:44PM by TMZ Staff
There is a lot of behind-the-scenes anger surrounding the Britney Spears' intervention, and the anger is directed at one Sam Lutfi, pictured here with Brit and mama Lynne today at Beverly Hills Mercedes.

As TMZ first reported, the family is staging an intervention so Britney can get help for her bipolar disorder. Family sources say they are furious at Lutfi, claiming he pushed Brit into going to B.H. Mercedes today to buy a new car -- in the middle of the effort to save her.
One source says the family believes Lutfi has been a "counterproductive, disquieting force" who has done nothing but harm.
I don't get this...why not just tell him to fuck off then?!

She either forgot where she parked it or the cigarette lighter no longer works.

How long is this "intervention" going to take? Its always been my belief that in an intervention, you get the addict in a room, everyone tells them all kind of crap about how much they love them and how they want to help them get better, blah blah blah and any possible thing they need to hear so that they will give their consent to go into rehab. The second they say "yes", then the addict is whisked away to a treatment facility before they know what hit them and before they have a chance to change their minds. That's how a successful intervention should work. I never read anything in drug counseling class about making the addict take you car shopping first.
