I dunno. Love's been very shrewd about managing her money, and I haven't heard about her committing any parental atrocities. I think the worst that's been said about her is that she might have had a hand in Kurt Cobain's death. If true, it doesn't make her crazy, just evil.

Courtney almost had to file Bankruptcy a couple years back, and shes lost custody of Frances atleast twice. Shes admitted to every drug out there including crack. The rumour that she had a hand in Kurts death really isnt the worst thing thats been said about her to be honest.

Last I heard of Love she'd sold 25% of the Nirvana catalogue. Cobain was named 'top dead earner' that year by Forbes. Apart from skipping out on Beau Monde treatment facility and leaving a six figure unpaid bill behind her, I'd assumed that she was doing pretty well lately. Always saw her as 'crazy like a fox'.

Well thats how she got out of debt was by selling off 25% of Nirvanas catalouge. She claims to have had only about 4 grand in the bank at the time and was living in a smallish rented apartment. She claims to have mostly spent everything she had before then on clothes and drugs. Now she is a brilliant mind yes but as far as who wins the title of most wacked out I think Courtney has Britney beat by a long shot with the shit shes pulled in her life.

Yes, she lost custody of Frances twice...first when she was a newborn, due to heroin use during pregnancy. Frances later was placed in the custody of Kurt's mother for over a year while Courtney cleaned up. So I don't think it's realistic to say she's never been guilty of "parental atrocities."

Courtney has always been a drugged out mess since the public first saw her, so that's what we expected of her. Britney has gone from "innocent" and somewhat wholesome (if you bought the act, and most did) and somewhat sane to the fucking mess she is right now tight before our eyes. Plus, she is downright just plain dumb. Which is a the big difference between the two. Courtney was a somewhat intelligent person who got involved in drugs and messed up her life. Britney was a nimrod from the beginning.

Courtney was really messed up a year or two ago. If she didn't have Kurt's catalog to sell, I wouldn't be surprised if she was in a far worse place today. But she did manage to pull herself together as of late. Courtney and Britney are pretty on par for bad behavior. But Courtney is somewhat intelligent, somewhat talented. She seems like a survivor to me. She also cares about her kid, which I think motivated her to get better.

How funny was that when the pap guy asked Britney which part of England she was from? She was clearly stumped for an answer. She's going to end up getting in a bad, bad spot if she continues her risky behavior. I can't believe they can't get her committed at this point. She sure is resembling a commitable schizophrenic to me.

See this is what I'm thinking. If I went around like that, they'd lock me up and lose the key (because there would be no question in any one's mind that I'd be nuts, and that committing me would be doing me a favour. If I was using, people would say I was self medicating in response to mental illness - case closed.)! Britney isn't getting the help she needs partly because she is rich, and I suspect doctors are more reluctant to give a rich patient a hard diagnosis. Like the old saying goes - if you're poor you're schizophrenic ( and drugged out of your gourd), if you're middle class, you're bi polar, and if you're rich you're eccentric and sent off to paint pictures (your madness will be ascribed to 'artistic temperament', and your paintings may eventually be sold at some of the finer galleries)! For one thing the rich can afford the best lawyers, and lawyers are the arch enemy of doctors. Brit probably got sprung out of Cedars Sinai by using the magic words "I'm suing". If Roadkill Willie says that who cares? When Brit says it, it's a very real threat. If they decide that she's not dangerous at that moment, they'll let her go, rather than answer for it in court. If she wasn't rich, she'd easily be diagnosed as a schizophrenic.

Now there's the two sides of the coin. On the one hand are the people who aren't really crazy, just odd and annoying. The old ladies who's houses stink of cat urine and are full of stacked up newspapers. They're not a danger to anyone, but they're nuisances. They lack the resources and support networks to stick up for themselves, so off they go. Then there's Britney - who appears to actually need help, and isn't getting it.
