And we're told ... Jason did it the old fashioned way ... by asking Britney's dad, Jamie Spears, for permission to marry his daughter.
Yeah, because he's an old fashioned guy - not because he's legally required to under the conservatorship. How romantic!

RadarOnline has been saying for years now that her conservatorship was going to be lifted. Last time, it was after her most recent tour. Now it's after these lawsuits, because Britney's lawyers have told the judge that she is so mentally incompetent she can't be deposed in the lawsuits, yet Radar also wants us to believe that her lawyers are going to argue that she is so incompetent to answer questions in a lawsuit and then will turn around months later and say that she's fine enough to have a lifetime conversatorship lifted. RadarOnline only floats those hollow promises that her conservatorship will end because Britney's PR knows it makes her sound more competent than she is, without actually having to do anything.

Conservatorships are very hard to get lifted, that's way they are so rare and only for the most extreme cases, and that's why lifetime conservatorships (which is what Britney is under) are only for people who a judge determine have no chance of getting better in their lifetime. I not only can't see Britney's conservators going to a judge and arguing that she is now competent enough to be in charge of her own life and finances, but I can't see any judge agreeing to lift a lifetime conservatorship on a woman whose own lawyers recently argued to a court was so incompetent that she couldn't even sit for a deposition.

me too, i hope she gets it together at some point. i'm not a fan of hers, but i just see her as a sick kid and i'm sympathetic to her illness. and yes, she does seem more likeable than some.

i just don't get the vitriol that i see directed at her.

I agree. She has a mental illness. The onset came right at a very common time in life. For her it was very public. She is being treated and seems happy. She is being a better parent to her sons. If she has found love, and greater stability in her life, I wish her all the best.

I also doubt she is under a lifetime cconservatorship since they occassionally have to go back to court to have the judge issue a continuance.

Nope, she's under lifetime conservatorship. Her conservators and herself have to appear yearly for progress reports (so the judge, for example, can make sure the conservators aren't doing anything nefarious with the finances) but those are not continuances.

Please, he's her minder. Why would a man want to marry a girl still under conservatorship?

Me too, I like Britney but I do think she needs to retire and just be with her kids. She's no longer the same performer.

All she has to do to get out of the conservatorship is petition the court & price that she is capable. It's not like it's never going to be lifted.

I think it's very convenient St the moment to be under it. Any prenup would be between Jason & the father & the lawyer who look after Britney, ditto any divorce payout. I bet that once the court stuff goes away (& she has a couple of big cases) she'll apply for it to end & get her kids back. Not sure where she'll be on the road to marriage at the point although it wouldn't surprise me if she marries before it ends.

Don't think he needs the money tbh, He used to represent big names, like Taylor Swift just to name one, so I'm sure he is set up for the rest of his life.

As long as she is happy who cares, after everything she went through she deserves a little happiness so good for her! they should just let her be married and have the family life that she has always wanted, everyone around her has been set up for life, they need to give the poor girl a break!

It's depressing for the groom to have a pre-nup with her Dad!
