me either. i remember watching the shining with friends when i was young and my parents made me sleep on the floor. that was the closest i got to sleeping with them. i would take weekend naps with my mom in their bed while watching tv though.

Belle, I'm pretty sure Voight left them pretty early on and I would guess it was before state mandatory child supprt (all very loosey goosey before the late 80's/early 90's). Wasn't AJ's mom a flower child? She probably would have thought it wrong to go after him for money, mess with her karma.
He paid child support and alimony so the flower child wasn't worried about her karma. In fact, in her will she left Voight a bill for unpaid alimony. Bitch can hold a grudge!

There are quotes from james and Angie saying their Dad didn't keep up with the alimony payments (note they never claim he missed child support payments). So methinks when marcie started living with that other guy, John got a little passive-aggressive about the payments.

Also, how do the kids know about missed alimony? Mommy ran her mouth, that's how.

Mommy must've run her mouth off about a lot of things for AJ to be so "affected" by their divorce, considering that she was a baby when he left & 5 or so when the divorce was finalised - by which time her mother had been living with another man for 2 years....
Jon Voight also did a lot of work for charity which she completely negates. Its like she's trying to re-write history....

Exactly. You can survive divorce and not run down your ex to your kids. I will never understand why people do that. Maybe I'm just really exceptional but I've never felt the need to put down my ex to my son - he's his father and I expect him to be a good father & in return, I expect my kid to love and respect him - as he deserves. I see a shitload of women use their kids as weapons and I just think it's a shitty thing to do. I have a brother that is going through some issues right now & it's almost turned me into a woman hater.

You lost me at "Maybe I'm just really exceptional"

Yeah, I get what you're saying, and i'm buying what you're selling, Mel. My sister is quite a bit like that too. There is no need for it. A divorce is between 2 people, one doesn't divorce the kids; but then again, I don't expect kids to be all up in their parents biziness.... but then my parents don't tell me how to live & I don't tell them....

That was like 1 compliment, 3 slams and 1 family outing in one post.

*Wipes off feeling of being uncomfortable*
Let's agree on Mel's made 1 exceptional situation; 3 kids still should not be into their parents' business. And we all have 2 relatives at least that violated those rules.
