Full disclosure, a lad at university who had a bit of a crush on me bought me a cushion with a picture of Armie Hammer on it. Better go burn it for fuel

But seriously, are there any decent people in entertainment anymore? Doesn't seem to be enough. Is it just me?

Take BPD out of that please. Abusive behaviour does not equal BPD. Borderlines are more likely to be an abuse victim, not the abuser. (Source: I have BPD. The stigma against this disorder is incredibly frustrating).

Borderline personality disorderAlso called: BPD, emotional dysregulation disorder

    Symptoms

    Requires a medical diagnosis
Symptoms include emotional instability, feelings of worthlessness, insecurity, impulsivity, and impaired social relationships.

    People may experience:
Behavioral: antisocial behavior, compulsive behavior, hostility, impulsivity, irritability, risk taking behaviors, self-destructive behavior, self-harm, social isolation, or lack of restraint
Mood: anger, anxiety, general discontent, guilt, loneliness, mood swings, or sadness
Psychological: depression, distorted self-image, grandiosity, or narcissism
    Also common: thoughts of suicide
Thank you for sharing that, Sassiness. This blurb is from the Mayo Clinic, and I'm sorry to admit I'm shocked. You are right, at least when it comes to me and about half of the people I asked, that BPD carries a very different reputation - and yes, a stigma - from the medical diagnosis. I'm sorry - to you and any other sufferers - for any times I may have hurt you with my stupidity.

Jesus wept, the older I get the more stupid it turns out I am. Truly, I'm very sorry.

There is absolutely a stigma against BPD, even and especially among mental health professionals. Sometimes when dealing with frustrating emotional behaviors, it becomes hard to remember the vulnerability of the person across from you. However, on the flip side, while a lot of people with BPD are more likely to be a victim, I wouldn't dismiss the concern outright because I've known plenty of people with BPD who were also very abusive to others. One diagnosis just can't capture the whole of a person or define totally who they are. So there's not enough known about Armie though to even make an armchair diagnosis at this point.

^^^I don't want to waste diagnosis on him either. Maybe he has BPD, but that would not make him the raging asshole that he is, that's his character, the debaunchery he is obviously used to, him never getting really called out for the hurt he caused before and tons of other factors.

Ugh. What good is cancel culture if we don't use it? Just cancel this guy already. I'm sick of hearing about all his issues and abuses. He's forever been the up-and-coming guy who never came. Go away now.

HOW does it get bigger than "possibly into cannibalism and definitely into abuse"???

(Actually, I take that back. I can imagine worse. Perils of being a lawyer who specialises in working with victims of family violence... whatever you think the worst case scenario could be, there's always something more fucked up lurking.)
