    Where it all begun

I am sure they knew the market price for the holy event was going down with every passing day.One more year and they would get peanuts from least(so far)they didnt play the fake charity card..I cannot understand the fuss their kids created about them marrying.Too traditional for such a non traditional family..And how about the gay marriage bullshit they dished out ..I am sorry but i dont see anything but PR and money in their doings..Kids drawings and shit you stick on the ref and some walls, not on a fucking dress..unless you are them...oh,they love their brood so much,oh they are so sentimental,oh they are sooo deep..yeah,right.

I love Angie, but she's always been a little bent. Drugs and/or eating disorders? Maybe, but I don't know how she could possibly be as controlled and productive as she most certainly is. I have often wondered, though, if consciously or subconsciously all the hunger, suffering and violence she has witnessed first hand makes her feel guilty about having so much. Oh damn, I'm not explaining this well at all....

(side-note: ask Brad for some weed, could use the munchies)

I don't care for the dress really, but for her, I like the veil. She loves her kids and it was a way to involve them in the day. I am sure the kids loved that! It will be a neat keepsake.

And the girl needs a little sun and a few buckets of chicken....she is so sallow and gaunt. I would think Brad and his family would be worried about her.

the dress - the cut, not just the artwork - and veil are hideous. i thought it was a joke when i first saw the pictures. thankfully, we all get to choose what we like when we walk down the aisle.

Call me crazy but she doesn't look thinner than normal to me. I would have liked the veil more had they limited to one piece of art per child, in muted tones along the perimeter.

Monsters, motorbikes, planes and the cheeky word buttock! Angelina Jolie wears veil adorned with her children's artwork as she kisses new husband Brad Pitt in first pictures from wedding

    • Angelina walked down the aisle to Brad humming 'Here Comes The Bride'

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt always said that they would get married when their children asked them to.

So it comes as no surprise that their six-strong brood played an integral part of their wedding day on August 23 at their French estate Chateau Miraval.

Indeed, the blushing bride took the unusual measure of letting her kids decorate her wedding dress, walking down the aisle in a gorgeous yet simple white satin gown and long veil that featured colourful drawings all over, as seen on the cover of this week's People and HELLO! magazines.

Introducing Mr and Mrs Pitt: Brad Pitt and his new bride Angelina Jolie shared a passionate kiss on the cover of HELLO! magazine which along with People obtained the exclusive rights to their wedding in France

Created by Atelier Versace master tailor Luigi Massi, the gown featured a fitted bodice with simple thin straps, the bust complete with ruching, with a plain waist, kicking out into a flowy full skirt.

Luigi then hand-sewed a number of the children's designs onto both the back of the dress and the full-length veil.

'Luigi is like family to me and I couldn't imagine anyone else making this dress,' the 39-year-old bride told People. 'He knows and cares for the children and it was great fun putting it together.'

Jolie added to HELLO!: 'I wanted the kids to be a part of everything including the dress because that's our family; that represents the way we live our life together.'

Angelina kept her hair and make-up simple and elegant for her big day, her long dark brunette locks worn up in a chic bun into which the veil was secured.

Her face was flawless and dewy, with brown shadow on her eyes, lashings of black mascara and a soft rose hue on her famously plump pout.

Her 50-year-old groom also kept it simple, pulling a black suit from his already bulging designer wardrobe, though he had to borrow a tie from one of their sons after forgetting to pack one.

A long time coming! The couple of 10 years finally made their union official after getting engaged in April 2012

The intimate, one-of-a-kind nuptials, which feature in this week's People magazine, in conjunction with the UK's HELLO!, give an unprecedented glimpse into the private Jolie-Pitt world.

Brad and Angelina eschewed recorded music and instead Angelina 'entered to Here Comes The Bride hummed by Brad, the children and the 20-odd guests, the wedding March was their accompaniment on the way out', according to HELLO!.

The doting parents set out to ensure the day was as special and perfect for their children as it was for them, with each child playing an important role in the non-denominational wedding they enthusiastically helped plan.

Sons Maddox, 13, and Pax, 10, proudly walked their mother down the aisle, looking oh-so-dapper in their smart black suits.

Nine-year-old Zahara, in a dress designed by family friend Adama Kebe, and Vivienne, six, who wore a white dress from her closet, made for precious flower girls, tossing petals as they lined the path for the bride.

Shiloh, eight, and six-year-old Knox were joint ring bearers, with Knox in a suit and Shiloh showing off her unique style in black dress shorts and shoes, a white shirt, black tie and top hat.

'It was important to us that the day was relaxed and full of laughter,' the newlyweds tell People.

'It was such a special day to share with our children and a very happy time for our family.'

The couple exchanged custom wedding rings from jeweller Robert Procop, who created Angelina's stunning engagement ring, an estimated 16-carat, emerald-cut diamond worth approximately $500,000.

A source today told MailOnline that the couple decided to marry at the stunning estate they bought in 2011 after Angelina made a promise to her later mother wed in France - and also to commemorate the 10-year anniversary of the filming of Mr & Mrs Smith, where she and Brad met and fell in love.

'Angelina promised her mother before she died that she'd get married in France. They were extremely close and this is Angie's way of honouring her,' the insider tells MailOnline.

According to inside sources, Ange also paid tribute to her mom Marcheline Bertrand by donning a piece of sentimental jewellery.

'It was important to us that the day was relaxed and full of laughter,' the newlyweds tell People.

'It was such a special day to share with our children and a very happy time for our family.'

'It was a small locket with a photo of her mother inside it. She had a veil and Brad gasped when he lifted it because she looked so stunning.'

Alongside this, the timing of the ceremony was 'not some happy accident' as it was 'deliberately chosen to commemorate the milestone of the 10th anniversary of filming of Mr and Mrs Smith', according to the source, who said that their son Maddox was 'particularly excited' and had beena 'powerful driver' for the two to marry.

Brad's parents, Bill and Jane Pitt, were in attendance, along with the groom's brother, Doug Pitt, sister Julie Pitt and her two children, and Angelina's brother James Haven, although her father Jon Voight was not present.

The source admitted that Brad's ex-wife Jennifer Aniston had no idea about the wedding - nor did Angelina's first husband, Jonny Lee Miller, even though he is said to be 'relaxed' as they remain friends.

Prior to exchanging vows, the couple obtained a marriage license from a California judge.

No rest for the wicked! Following a brief honeymoon in Malta, it was back to work for Brad on Saturday, seen filming a new project in New York with his sparkling new wedding band gleaming on his left ring finger

The same judge also conducted the nondenominational civil ceremony in France.

It is also believed that the couple toasted their marriage with their own vintage, the Chateau Miraval rosé.

Angelina's father, the actor Jon Voight, was unaware of his daughter's wedding plans, telling Inside Edition that he didn't know she had married.

'That's nice', was his only comment.

The 75-year-old later told E! in a statement: 'It sounds like it was a wonderful wedding. It must have been very beautiful with the kids participating. I know it was during Emmy week and they were able to do it very quietly. I'm very happy for them.'

Angelina and Brad will be spending their honeymoon in Malta as they shoot new movie By The Sea about an unhappily married couple and the actress quipped to HELLO! that it is a strange post-wedding break for them both.

Special moment: The 50-year-old groom is said to have 'gasped' when his blushing bride lifted her veil when they wed in an intimate ceremony at their sprawling Chateau Miraval estate in Correns, France

Brad showed off his wedding ring for the first time on Thursday, at a photocall for his WWII movie Fury, in Dorset.

In an interview with Australia's TV Week, the Oscar winning actress revealed she and her now husband kept in touch the old fashioned way while he worked on the wartime epic, and she her own movie, Unbroken, by mailing letters to each other from opposite ends of the world.

'He was supportive from a distance and it was quite romantic in a way,' the 39-year-old said.

'We decided to be of that time, when we could imagine he was in the European theatre and I was in the Pacific theatre, and we wrote handwritten letters to each other that were very connecting for us, thinking of the people that were separated for months, if not years, at a time back then.'

The destination: The married couple tied the knot at Chateau Miraval

They got engaged two years ago, but in May, Angelina said she hadn't organised anything for their big day and she hasn't even bought a wedding dress.

She told USA Today: 'We don't have any plans to get married at the moment. Nothing is organised. Nothing is ready. I don't have a dress.'

And while many celebrities have complained about interest in their private lives in recent weeks - including Charlize Theron's insensitive statement that press intrusion is comparable to rape - Angelina acknowledged that she understands people care about her wedding.

She said: 'It matters to us in a very private way. But we also understand that we're public people.'

Angelina previously revealed that their children were planning the wedding and she and Brad may end up wearing camouflage in a paintball wedding extravaganza if their kids get their way.

Wedding party: All the children had a role in the ceremony, with her eldest sons Maddox and Pax walking their mother down the aisle

She told People magazine: 'We will get married, and we're not in a rush, so we're just waiting for it to be the right time with the kids, with work, when it feels right,. We talk about it occasionally, and the kids talk about it with us.

'We all kind of think about how we imagine it or what it might be. So we've started to do that but we haven't made any definite plans'.

Although, she went on to explain that the children's vision of the wedding is 'verging on hysterical'.

'But we are discussing it with the children and how they imagine it might be. Which is verging on hysterical, how kids envision a wedding,' the Mr And Mrs Smith star said.

'They will in a way be the wedding planners. It's going to be Disney or paintball - one or the other!'

She added: 'We've got a lot of different personalities in the house. They've got some strong opinions. It will be fun. That's the important thing. When we do it, it will feel like a great day for our family.

Support: Last February, Angelina underwent a double mastectomy, a decision fully supported by Brad

Brad had said, after proposing to Angelina in 2012, that they wouldn't get married until same sex marriage was legalised across the US

'We made this declaration some time ago that we weren’t going to do it till everyone can. But I don’t think we’ll be able to hold out,' the actor said, and clearly he was right.

It was on their first film, 2005's Mr & Mrs Smith, that Brad and Angelina fell in love. Although the Fight Club star was married to Jennifer Aniston while shooting took place, the pair have always denied cheating allegations.

‘To be intimate with a married man, when my own father cheated on my mother, is not something I could forgive,’ she said at the time.

However, they have both admitted to falling for each other while they played married assassins in the blockbuster. Speaking in 2008, Brad revealed the movie was among his favourites, explaining: 'Because you know... six kids. Because I fell in love.'

Maybe, but Angelina has always been skinny though. Before her UN stuff she was very thin, take this picture from 1999.

I think she's always struggled with eating disorders.
