So this thread is so timely.

On Tuesday, I had to get a spinal done for a minor surgery. I'm a super regular person who never gets constipated, goes at least once every 24 hours, etc.

I guess the spinal shuts down your digestive system so when I tried to go on Wednesday I almost died. It took over an hour, I was sweating, vomiting, crying, and my body was doing this damn awful involuntary spasming trying to push it out. I almost pulled the emergency button to call my nurse, but I couldn't even move. I took stool softener a and was fine the next day but I seriously thought I might die on the toilet.

Well, when my young son was a toddler. I had to bring him to the emergeny room several times to have poopoo removed because it just wouldn't come out. He was so impacted. I hated it. He has crohns now so it really sucks for him. There is no cure for it. He has good days and bad days but it affects his work and that sucks.

^^I'm sure you and he have tried it all in the interest of mitigating the effects of his Crohn's but has he tried removing all grains and adding bone broth to his diet? I've seen anecdotally on the internet how doing so brings great relief to Crohn's, IBS and other autoimmune disease sufferers. I pulled most grains from my diet a few months ago (I still eat brown rice and some gluten free oats) because I was concerned about sore finger joints upon awakening and leaky gut symptoms which are apparently autoimmune responses. I can't tell you how much better I feel and how much better my body works without the grains.

Oooh, I think I remember that one - wasn't it something like a muscle weakness had caused a hernia in the colon and she had to shove a couple of fingers up her chuff to reach around and push the muscles back into place to help things move along?

Back to the Getty guy - I'm wondering if alcohol abuse played a part. Some heavy, long term drinkers can go off with quite a bloody bang.

Well, he is a man and you know how that is. He won't even go to the doctor. But i finally convinced him to change up his diet. He also has ocd so it's like the same thing all the times so it's a bit tricky.
But he just started so hopefully we will have some results. Thanks so much for the advice. Gonna try it out. We thought he had ibs but it got worse. He has been fired from jobs and everything.
So he really has both ibs and crohns...kinda. It has really taken a toll on him but he is doing better. Thanks so much.

Not going to a doctor when you have crohn's is like playing with a loaded gun. There are drugs that can help. And scarily some of the complications can kill you. He really should be working with a specialist and treating it.

Yep. A family friend and, along with my hard drinking fuckwit father who was his best mate, life long boozer died with, and here I will quote said fuckwit father, "blood pissing out of every hole in his body"

Thanks Dad. Good shit to hear about my quasi-godfather.

Just a note that Bobby Brown coined the term "doody bubbles". Far be it from me to steal his thunder.

I'm still waiting for the coroners details, I'm pretty sure that the first headlines had more to do with the fact that the Gettys are considered total freaks than what was actually happening in that villa. Is there any news about the girlfriend, is she still in the psychatric clicnic?

^^^ I have seen zero follow up to this story. There was a small article (it did have an interesting list of all the calamities that have befallen the Gettys) in the latest People, but it didn't give any new information that I remember.

Another avenue to consider for your son is Low Dose Naltrexone. I have a neighbor who has MS and changing her diet and using LDN helped her walk again, she's doing pretty well. It's a great drug at a low dose for autoimmune diseases and cancer. While researching it Crohn's Disease came up often as one of the diseases that responds well to the drug. The experts say start low and increase your dose slowly.
