Amy Winehouse cancels tour

The problem with being famous is that there will always be people around willing to give you whatever you want -- be it drugs, booze, sex. She needs a break from the biz, in rehab. Whether it takes or not, at least she will last a little longer.

I think "choice" when you are as addicted, vulnerable and broken down as she is differs from the choices and judgment of a person who is making rational decisions. An awful lot of women follow men blindly -- we may not be like that, but millions are. He's her hubby and her pusher, a pretty lethal emotional combo.

She seems perfectly able to get fucked up without him, he's not pushing ANYTHING from behind bars.

She's responsible for her own actions, period. So she can sing, big deal. She's just as fucked up (if not moreso) than any of the other celebutards out there. She just hasn't done anything stupid in a car yet... besides most likely puking all over the inside of one.

So the whole "lets blame everyone else around her just because she can actually sing" bit is getting so old.

^^Well, she is responsible for her actions and the blame is placed on her, but at this point who cares? She needs help and sometimes, like it or not, addicts aren't in the position to help themselves. Especially with drugs like heroin or crystal meth. I was so messed up on Meth that I thought I had it all together and everything was fine. It took a lot of persuading to get me to stop using it long enough to come down, and when I did I freaked over what a mess I had made of my life and then willingly sought help.

I have a sister in law who's pregnant and will probably deliver in jail. She has a dealer, her drug problem is her drug problem. He doesn't hunt her down when she wants a fix, she hunts him. I feel no pity for these people. I feel a little bad for the family, but not her. There's plenty of folks who just say no.

Mel, if it were that easy to just say no, we wouldn't have the drug problem we have. I am not a bleeding heart to every addict out there, but I do understand the point at which the drugs take over your entire being. Some people can dabble and be done with it; others get hooked. Unfortunately, one usually never finds out which type of person they will be until its too late.

Well if she keeps on like this her popularity will fade enough that the celeb pressures will be off and she can either reclaim her music career or fade into junkie obscurity.

That's exactly what I think Mel. She didn't suddenly meet Blake and to into this drug induced spiral. She was halfway there already. She would just hook up with some other junkpunk.

So she cancels her tour because her hubby is banged up in prison until after christmas but when he is found guilty and is banged up for even longer (which he will be b/c perverting the cause of justice is a serious crime) she's probably going to top herself. She has no chance of surviving a long jail sentence if she can't live without him for a few weeks.
