As crappy as it has become, I still think they have produced more talent than The Voice has touched. Why is that?

What happens to The Voice winner once they win? I know Idol sets them up on tour and with a record contract...i know it doesn't guarantee success by any means, but yeah, talent has come out of idol.

The country winners are doing well because Blake sets them up, takes them on his summer tours, etc. that's why so many contestants want to go with him even when it seems an odd choice.

To me, the voice is more about the famous judges. Whereas Idol began with the likes of Simon and Randy who were more concerned about the talent than promoting their own (musical) careers.

I just saw the ads for the last season? How long is the last season gonna last? It's like Cher going out on tour. This is the last tour and then she pops up again. I have to say I love Cher and like that she keeps on going, but American Idol? Not so much. Jumped the shark years ago.

I will miss the bad auditions by the clueless wannabes...I laugh whenever some fool gets up there and sings like shit...some of it is staged I know, but it's the only laughs I get out of the show. And I won't miss Harry Connick's ego trips.

I'll miss it. i think there has been more success due to Clive Davis and the others that are so well connected in the music mafia. Not sure The Voice has that. They put more emphasis on the judges.

American Idol jumped the shark for me when Paula left. She was pure entertainment.

As much as the awkward auditions were funny to watch, after the first couple seasons - they became painfully obvious. As in, it seemed/seems like people were awkward/awful on purpose to get airtime. After William Hung got "famous" - it gave people (and the producers) more of an incentive to showcase that kind of stuff.

A tad off topic, I've never seen a full Voice episode (I'm not a big music competition show fan) but, this clip of Harrison Craig’s audition for The Voice Australia brought me to tears.
Ps. I just want to rip that damn toothpick out of Joel Madden’s mouth. Did you just come from your lunch break, Joel?

The look of amazement/shock Ricky's face when he turns around... Priceless.
