Ex-pal of Lauren Sanchez says Jeff Bezos would be ‘stupid’ to marry her

A longtime pal of Jeff Bezos’ new girlfriend, Lauren Sanchez, offered Page Six a blunt assessment of the situation: “Jeff Bezos is seriously stupid if he’s thinking of marrying her. He’s already seriously stupid for giving up half his fortune for her.”

The former friend said that they’d had a front-row seat for much of Sanchez’s colorful — and turbulent — romantic history, and thinks the Amazon billionaire is in for an interesting ride.

By our count, for example, TV personality turned helicopter pilot Sanchez has been engaged to at least four different people.

Bezos is divorcing his wife of 25 years, MacKenzie, and is now seeing Sanchez, who is still married to Hollywood superagent Patrick Whitesell.

The insider — who stopped being friends with Sanchez — said that when Sanchez was an intern at a Los Angeles TV station, she got engaged to sports broadcaster Rory Markas, who went on to be a play-by-play announcer for the Angels baseball team. The source said that Sanchez left Markas when she changed jobs. (Markas died of a heart attack in 2010.)

Meanwhile, the source added that when Sanchez later got engaged to “NYPD Blue” star Henry Simmons and the two moved into a house in Manhattan Beach, Calif., friends were surprised when Sanchez started dating then-Endeavor agent Whitesell shortly after.

Then, we’re told, when Sanchez was preparing to marry Whitesell, she called another former flame, ex-NFL player Tony Gonzalez — with whom she has a son — to say that she would call off the wedding if Gonzalez wanted to get back together with her. A rep for Gonzalez said this isn’t correct.

Another former football player, Anthony Miller — to whom she was engaged for a year and a half — said on Sunday that Sanchez cheated on him, which sources close to Sanchez denied.

Reps for Sanchez, Simmons and Gonzalez didn’t get back to us.

Lauren Sanchez’s brother slams accusations in Jeff Bezos’ racy texts probe

Jeff Bezos’ security guru Gavin de Becker has zeroed in on his boss’s mistress, Lauren Sanchez’s, own brother as a potential suspect in his investigation into who leaked the Amazon billionaire’s embarrassing, love-struck texts.

Page Six revealed de Becker – the man in charge of Bezos’ security – was leading the investigation into the leak of the very personal texts to the National Enquirer and has interviewed Sanchez herself as well as her brother, Michael Sanchez. Bezos is personally funding the probe.

On Thursday, de Becker told the Daily Beast: “Michael Sanchez has been among the people we’ve been speaking with and looking at.”

The celeb security specialist would not comment when we asked if he believed Lauren was in any way complicit in, or knew about, the sext leaks.

But Michael, a Hollywood-based manager and publicist, told Page Six: “I am not dignifying de Becker’s passive aggressive allegations or his crazy conspiracy theories. I’ve recommended that Lauren fire him as security for her and the Whitesell children.”

De Becker didn’t immediately respond to his claims.

Meanwhile we’re told Lauren – the estranged wife of Hollywood power agent WME/IMG co-CEO Patrick Whitesell – has hired her own independent investigator to do an investigation of the leaks of racy messages from Bezos, which included the timeless passionate prose, “I want to smell you, I want to breathe you in. I want to hold you tight,” and “I love you, alive girl. I will show you with my body, and my lips and my eyes, very soon.”

Racier nude photo texts were also allegedly leaked but didn’t make it into print.

De Becker, a former Justice Department adviser, has added that “strong leads point to political motives.”

Bezos is the owner of the Washington Post, which is critical of President Trump.

Interestingly, Michael – an openly gay man who is an ardent Trump admirer – is friends with a host of current and former Trump aides, including Roger Stone, who – amid an FBI raid on his home – has denied he hacked Bezos’ phone, even though nobody has accused him of doing so.

She better try to marry him quick because only a matter of time before her either runs back to the wife because he finds out shes a gold digger or trade her in for some 20 year old. She reminds me of that Kimberly lady that Don Jr is dating.

Just wanted to note here that Gavin de Becker is the author of the bestseller "Gift of Fear" and is one of the foremost security consultants in the world.

Amazon's Jeff Bezos Claims He's Being Extorted by National Enquirer

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos has released an open letter in response to an alleged extortion attempt by the National Enquirer and its parent company American Media.

The tabloid magazine released an investigation into Bezos‘ relationship with Lauren Sanchez (pictured in the gallery alongside Bezos and ex-husband Patrick Whitesell) back in January. He launched an investigation into how private text messages between him and Lauren were obtained by the magazine and “to determine the motives for the many unusual actions taken by the Enquirer.”

Now, the magazine says it has Bezos‘ private and intimate photos, including a “below the belt selfie” and revealing photos of Sanchez.

“They said they had more of my text messages and photos that they would publish if we didn’t stop our investigation,” Bezos wrote in his blog post on Medium.com. “My lawyers argued that AMI has no right to publish photos since any person holds the copyright to their own photos, and since the photos in themselves don’t add anything newsworthy. AMI’s claim of newsworthiness is that the photos are necessary to show Amazon shareholders that my business judgment is terrible.”

In his post, Bezos explained why he is speaking out against the Enquirer and American Media.

“Any personal embarrassment AMI could cause me takes a back seat because there’s a much more important matter involved here. If in my position I can’t stand up to this kind of extortion, how many people can?” he said.

I don't see how the FBI doesn't get involved here. The idea that you could threaten people with international damage to their reputation (with what almost certainly were stolen or hacked pictures) and call it a "good faith effort" is laughable. I saw that other famous people - including Ronan Farrow, say that the same tactics were used with them. This sounds like a RICO charge just waiting to happen.

Amazon’s Jeff Bezos took to Medium on Thursday to describe an “extortion” and “blackmail” threat sent his way by American Media Inc. (AMI), the parent company of the National Enquirer.
In “No Thank You, Mr. Pecker,” referring to AMI CEO David Pecker, Bezos described why he decided not to “capitulate” to a threat of exposing compromising photos of him and his mistress Lauren Sanchez. Bezos said that this threat came in response to his investigation of how the National Enquirer had obtained “intimate” texts in the first place between him and Sanchez, plus some digging into AMI’s Saudi Arabia ties. He says he hired Gavin de Becker to investigate the text leak. Bezos said that Pecker was “apoplectic” about his further investigation into the Saudi Arabia “angle.” Bezos then shared an email from AMI’s Chief Content Officer Dylan Howard, detailing what was threatened including a “d*ck pick.”

Bezos said that he was made “an offer he couldn’t refuse,” but one that he did refuse. He said that unless he and de Becker publicly stated that they “have no knowledge or basis for suggesting that AMI’s coverage was politically motivated or influenced by political forces” the nudes would go public. Bezos then said he was told by AMI that even if he did make this statement, they’d keep the photos in case Bezos reneged on the statement.
Not long after former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen was sentenced to three years in prison in December for bank fraud, tax fraud, campaign finance violations, and lying to congressional investigators, prosecutors in the Southern District of New York (SDNY) announced in a press release that it “previously reached a non-prosecution agreement” with American Media Inc. (AMI), the parent company of the National Enquirer. The practice called “catch and kill,” in which a publication buys a damaging story just to bury it, was the one AMI admitted to carrying out with former Playboy model Karen McDougal. McDougal was paid $150,000 to stay quiet about an affair with Donald Trump.
David Pecker himself first got an immunity deal, but then SDNY said AMI admitted to paying McDougal “in concert” with the Trump campaign to prevent damaging allegations from influencing the election.
But here’s the thing, the non-prosecution agreement also says that “it is understood […] should AMI commit any crimes subsequent to the date of signing of this Agreement, or should the Government determine that AMI or its representatives have knowingly given false, incomplete, or misleading testimony or information, or should AMI otherwise violate any provision of this Agreement, AMI shall thereafter be subject to prosecution for any federal criminal violation of this Office has knowledge, including perjury and obstruction of justice.”

National Enquirer owner to ‘thoroughly investigate’ allegations made by Jeff Bezos

The National Enquirer‘s parent company said Friday that it “acted lawfully” in its coverage of Jeff Bezos, though its four-person board would “thoroughly investigate” the Amazon CEO’s claims that the tabloid’s boss tried to blackmail him with nude pictures.

“American Media believes fervently that it acted lawfully in the reporting of the story of Mr. Bezos,” the company said in a statement. “Further, at the time of the recent allegations made by Mr. Bezos, it was in good faith negotiations to resolve all matters with him.”

“Nonetheless, in light of the nature of the allegations published by Mr. Bezos, the Board has convened and determined that it should promptly and thoroughly investigate the claims,” the statement continued. “Upon completion of that investigation, the Board will take whatever appropriate action is necessary.”

AMI CEO David Pecker — at the center of Bezos’ allegations — sits on that board.

On Thursday, Bezos dropped bombshell allegations against the National Enquirer, accusing its parent company, American Media Inc. — run by Pecker — of trying to blackmail him with nude selfies.

In a Thursday “Medium” post entitled “No thank you, Mr. Pecker,” Bezos claimed that AMI threatened to publish a nude photo of him and other lewd images they’d obtained if he did not stop investigating the tabloid’s recent exposure of his affair and publicly declare that its reporting on it had not been “politically motivated.”

Pecker is a longtime pal of President Trump — and AMI has admitted to buying the rights to potentially embarrassing stories about the commander-in-chief in an effort to keep them from seeing the light of day.

Trump, meanwhile, has been a vocal critic of Bezos and his newspaper, which he often derides as the “Amazon Washington Post.”

The Enquirer in January published pages of saucy texts and descriptions of racy photos exchanged between Bezos and also-married TV anchor Lauren Sanchez — and forced Bezos to publicly announce his divorce from wife MacKenzie before the issue hit newsstands.

Jeff Bezos’ investigator believes text messages were obtained by ‘government entity’

The lead investigator for Jeff Bezos believes intimate text messages from the Amazon CEO to his mistress may have been obtained by a “government entity,” according to a report.

Gavin de Becker – who is leading the probe into the National Enquirer’s acquisition of Bezos’ private texts to also-married TV anchor Lauren Sanchez – has spoken extensively with Washington Post reporter Manuel Roig-Franzia, who appeared on MSNBC’s “The Last Word” with Lawrence O’Donnell Thursday night.

“He’s provided us with some very interesting insights into the back stages of this whole drama, including the investigation that has taken place in which they have begun to believe – the Bezos camp – that this publication by the National Enquirer may have been politically motivated,” Roig-Franzia said.

“Gavin de Becker told us that he does not believe that Jeff Bezos’ phone was hacked,” he added. “He thinks it’s possible that a government entity might have gotten hold of his text messages.”

The insights come soon after Bezos dropped bombshell allegations against the National Enquirer on Thursday — accusing it of trying to blackmail him with nude selfies.

The billionaire alleged in a “Medium” post that the Enquirer’s parent company, American Media Inc., threatened to publish a nude photo of him and other lewd images they’d obtained if he did not stop investigating the tabloid’s recent exposure of his affair and publicly declare that its reporting on it had not been “politically motivated.”

Just two days earlier, the Washington Post, which Bezos owns, published a story exploring whether the Enquirer’s recent exposť on his affair with also-married TV anchor Lauren Sanchez — and subsequent split from his wife of 25 years — was a “political hit job.”

The gossip mag in January published pages of saucy texts and descriptions of racy photos exchanged between the illicit couple — and forced Bezos to publicly announce his divorce before the issue hit newsstands.
