I said, yes, I heard. She went on and on. I said 97 was a long life and she was an icon. Didn't know what else to say. She was a favorite of this colleague. I really felt weird because I honestly know nothing more than she was an icon. Don't know why I never saw her in anything. Seems like a lot of people loved her. RIP.
Donít worry. I donít know much about her either.

That was such an entertaining movie. It was her favorite one to do. She had been terribly bruised with all the rugged choreography.

Doris had been singing and acting since the late 40's and 50's in lot of musicals and dramas. If you're an old movie fan (or fanatic) you'd know her. She made those great comedies with all the handsome men in the late 50's and 60's, in the 70's she had a tv show and then she kind of finished her entertaining. In the comedies she was brilliantly cast as the virginal, always a lady or the good and devoted wife but always with a twist. She was great in Hitchcock's Man Who Knew Too Much with Jimmy Stewart and the thriller Midnight Lace. Midnight Lace made me jump out of my skin much like Sorry, Wrong Number with Stanwyck. Suffice it to say, she was hard working and very good at what she did. She wasn't overtly sexy or tried to act that way, but she was very appealing especially with her male co-stars on and off the screen. They all loved her.

My favorite dress from That Touch Of Mink with Cary Grant.

My favorite dress from Pillow Talk.

Rock has that look on his face because he just realizes that she's the woman on the other end of his party line (when phone lines used get crossed).

Come on girls, invite your girlfriends over and watch these feel good movies. They stand the test of time. Call Doris in her comedies - "a rules girl".

Turner Classic Movies is honoring Doris. They have US East & West Coast schedules and Canadian schedules.

Pillow Talk, Lover Come Back and Move Over Darling are on Sunday night.
