    What I want to know is how messed up are her parents to let her do this? I'm talking about the boob job, the makeup, the clothes, the "career," the pedo husband, the whole works. Seriously, no matter how fucked up you are as a parent, how can you possibly let your daughter marry a 51 year-old man? I've been a GR lurker since almost the beginning and this is the first time I have ever been shocked by anything I read here. Wow.

    so...how come in this thread we haven't had anyone saying "who cares, she's legal" and "i had a much older boyfriend when i was 16" like we usually do?

    OK, I'll bite. When I was 17, I had a much older boyfriend (though not NEARLY that old). How's that?

    She may be legally able to have a relationship but she'd still have needed parental consent to marry so she's not quite legal on her own! Her parents agreed to this. I don't get that. At all. This isn't what any sane parents would want for their 16 year old. You'd think at least they'd agree that she could get married the moment she turns 18 and then just hope like hell that the relationship falls apart in the next two years.

    16 year olds still have a lot of mental and emotional growing up to do.
