I know...from one of the last things I read on him it seemed like he was trying/eager to get his life together...

Yeah, he was a pretty good actor in The Client and Sleepers, especially The Client. He held his own with Susan Sarandon, Tommy Lee Jones, and Ossie Davis.
But I can't say that I'm shocked that he's dead. He was a pretty screwed up kid. Although it's too bad he couldn't have gotten his act together. 25 is too damn young to die behind stupid shit. But the cold hard facts are that he's just another in a long list of child stars that got too much, too soon, and couldn't handle it.

^^^ Yeah to be honest, I was pretty blown away by his performance as a kid beside such brilliant actors. He could have been so much more. Really very sad. He was a cute kid.

The majority of posts on this thread are along the lines of 'poor guy, what a shame he didn't get his act together, another child actor chewed up and spit out by Hollywood, bad family'. Where are the 'glad the bastard is dead, loser drug addict, he didn't WANT to get clean, if he really WANTED to get clean he would, he doesn't care about anyone but himself' posts? I'm feeling a very different standard for fucked up former male child actors than the ladies are getting.

^ true, but Britney and Lindsay are shoved down our throats all the time, this guy kept a pretty low profile and was never really in tabloids or trying to get attention. Most people know him as a child actor or haven't heard of him. If there was an actress or female former child star that was similar to him and had for the most part kept out of the spotlight I am pretty sure people would be saying the same stuff and "RIP".
But then again I always really liked him so I'm biased.....
