I think she is a cute girl, but for Hollywood standards I do think she is plain. I think for me, she falls more into the category of cute than pretty, but that's good because cute ages better and you can still be cute and pretty at the same time.... yes, I know that didn't make sense. I think I am probably in the same category as Emma though, it's not bad!

I'm not drinking haterade or even milk at the moment - but I didn't like how the directors changed Hermoine. She was supposed to have bushy hair with big teeth and thats how Emma started out. Then they changed her looks so when she got all dressed up for the Goblet of Fired it was no big deal.

As for Emma's looks, she sort of looks like Keira Knightly to me.

Thing is Emma talks about her book smarts and thats a good thing but while the guys are taking acting lessons Emma isn't. While the guys acting has gotten better, Emma's hasn't.

After Harry Potter if Emma doesn't chose to act it won't bother me one way or the other.

I am correct in saying that everytime she has a movie coming out she starts with the "I'm not going to act anymore" stuff.

She does say that and really she's only done a handful (two?) things outside harry potter. I think it's great if she doesn't want to go on acting ... and I also think it exceptionally cool that she would agree to finish up the harry potter movies. I'm a bit of a fan, so I appreciate her not dropping out of the films.

GA Peach, in the books it is clear that Hermione cleans up quite well. I believe she magics away her big crooked teeth and learns to do herself up in The Goblet of Fire. In the books Ron is slow to realize that Hermione has become a bit of a looker but other boys notice before he does.

The way she evolves in the movie is quite consistent with the books, and when casting Hermione they needed to find someone who could look mousy but would obviously grow into a nice-looking girl. I think they did a pretty good job, except that EW isn't a great actress. But she gets the job done.

I saw her in Dancing Shoes (or is Ballet Shoes?) on TV and she wasn't a very compelling actress in that; however, it sounds like she knows her limitations.

I think it's kind of sweet that the kids have all stuck with the series. I'm sure the money is part of it, but at least they haven't gotten swelled heads and think that they are too good for the movies. I wish them all well.

She seems like a nice girl and she's stunning in these pics. But she really can't act so no big loss if she disappears once the HP movies are over.

In the books (that I have read more times than I want to admit, and the books on tape I listen to because I love Jim Dales voice) Hermoine cleans up well for the Ball but after the ball she undoes her hair and goes back to her bushy hair. They cleaned up Hermoine and they cut Harrys hair. Harrys hair always grows back .. some one should have told the directors.

I love book smart people but if she's going to be in blockbuster movies it wouldn't have hurt if she took a few acting lessons. She started out the best actor of the trio but by Prisoner of Azkaban the guys left her in the dust, wiggling her eyebrows.

It's one thing to say "I don't want to act" It's another to give up the paparazzi and media attention, where no one cares what dress designer your wearing or who your dating. If your really going to give up acting, you just give it up without announcing it to the world.

I like Emma Watson, she's a together person in a profession of so untogether people but fact is she can't act. I'm glad all the same people stayed together to make the rest of the movies...... but it's not like the cast of Lord Of the Rings - every actor was spot on. With Harry Potter you've got good books translated to screen by some OK actors. .... I'm hoping Rupert does well.

Movies are never the same as books. Not even well loved books (c.f. Lord of the Rings).

Doesn't mean we can't appreciate each medium equally on its own merits.

If it wasn't for Harry Potter, she'd be working at some post office or Kinkos as just another girl working your 9 to 5 job. Every time i see a pic of her, I yawn and wonder, what's all the fuss about. Boooooriiiing!!

    Yah, that's true.

I think money was mostly a part of it.
