Nadya Suleman is one step closer to getting over her rampant case of denial.
The single mother of 14 - including newborn octuplets - told TV doc
Dr. Phil McGraw that she wasn’t “thinking rationally” when she decided to undergo multiple fertility treatments again after six children.
“At the time, I was justifying my actions based on saying ‘Well, these are my children, they are extremely valuable - their lives,’ which is true, but I was not placing that above my others,” Suleman said after Dr. Pheeeeeel (
) asked Nadya why she decided to go through with it.
“But my heart was in it. Not my head. I wasn’t thinking rationally. In retrospect, would I have done that again? I don’t know.”
Suleman said she’s just thrilled to be receiving around-the-clock care for her eight infants from the nonprofit Angels in Waiting. “Extremely, extremely excited and relieved,” Suleman said about the organization’s offer. “Like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders, and it’s amazing because it’s 100 percent for my children and it makes me feel like everything is falling into place.”
As for the new 2,500-square-foot, four-bedroom home she just bought with her father’s help, Suleman said it’s “modest” and is “conducive to premature infants.”
As we suspected, there’s talk of a reality show, but not until the kiddies are older, she said. It’s “exploitative,” she said.
“It depends on how it’s done, but when they’re much older, and that’s not up to me - it’s up to the kids,” said Octo-mom, who did say she’s open to appearing in a medical documentary. But she’ll have to ask her older children before agreeing to an offer.
