M.I.A. gives birth to a baby boy
It's a Boy for M.I.A.!
Saturday February 14, 2009

M.I.A. and her husband Benjamin Brewer arrive at the GQ Men of the Year party on November 18, 2008 in Los Angeles, California.

M.I.A. is a mommy!
She welcomed a baby boy on Friday, she blogs on her Celebrity MySpace page.
The rapper, 31, writes: "MY BABY WAS BORN WEDNESDAY, HE IS HEALTHY, FINE, BEAUTIFUL AND THE MOST AMZING THING EVER ON THIS PLANET, OF COURSE IM HIS MUM!!! ME AND BABY ARE PUTTING OUR TOUR DATES FOR 2010 TOGETHER AND MAKING MIX TAPES AND FIGURING OUT A WAY TO BREAK OUT OF THE HOSPITAL!"
M.I.A. -- who did not reveal the baby's name -- says her early stage labor kicked in Monday at 2 a.m. after she performed "Swagga Like Us" with Jay-Z, T.I., Lil Wayne and Kanye West.
See M.I.A. performing on the Grammys and more unforgettable show moments.
It is the first child for M.I.A (real name: Mathangi “Maya” Arulpragasam) and her fiance, musician Benjamin Bronfman.
See Us' Baby Bump Hall of Fame!
“They say that you’re often late the first time, so I’m planning to go,” she told USA Today before Sunday's Grammys. “We’ll see. People are trying to get me to relax and focus on the baby. It’s like being in parallel universes.”
M.I.A. announced she was expecting last fall, but vowed to keep her baby's sex and due date a secret.
Check out other surprise pregnancies.
"When I found out I was pregnant and [my song] "Paper Planes" was in the iTunes top 10, it seemed like the whole world was reshuffled in one week, and all my plans went out the window," she said. "I've got two kids, that's what it feels like. And that's the lesson – you can't make plans."
The rapper's song "O Saya" can be heard in Slumdog Millionaire, and is nominated for a best song Oscar.

I swing from liking her stuff to hating it, I think I need to be in a certain mood for it. In any case, congratulations to her and Lionel Ritchie
I hope they call the kid Bob or something just to really shock us all.

Shit, I was thinking the same damn thing. Her music is pretty awful to me that song Paper Airplanes or whatever has over 34 million views on youtube.
