Jim Carrey insists he hasn't been affected by the credit crunch - because he has plenty of money.
The actor - who stars in new movie Yes Man - says the current economic climate hasn't affected him at all - as he has so much money he doesn't know what to do with it all.
He says, "I'm not in a recession.
"I'm doing incredibly well. I don't know - I just want to be honest, because I am really kicking ass. It's so wonderful to have money."

At least he is not trying to pretend he's just like the rest of us.

Jim Carrey grew up poor. I doubt that he said it like this.. it was probably more like I'm blessed to be able to afford things now. He's really a nice person, if he did say it he didn't mean it to be mean.

Thanks for sharing, Jimmy. I was so worried that you might not be able to maintain your lavish lifestyle

I hope $cientology hasn't started funneling money out of his bank account. If they've read this quote about his loads of cash, they must be begging to get in at the gate.

Jim is immune to $cientology. They've tried and he wouldn't go there.
I have had a soft spot for Carrey since Eternal Sunshine...
He has a reputation for extreme frugality as a reaction to a childhood of poverty. Maybe this quote was in the middle of a longer interview along those lines - how he might be starting to relax and enjoy his money a little more.

Jim's been homeless and lived out of his car when he got to LA. I'm not going to bad mouth his success. It's what everyone's striving for. At least he's not one of these overpriviledged fucks who thinks he was owed everything he has. We worked is ass off for it.

How I wish I could say that too. But I am as funny as a fart in a hurricane so I guess Id never be a comedian earning the big bucks. Jim earned his for sure.

Word.
I believe he came from poverty and he worked his butt off on various jobs before making it big.
While it does rub me the wrong way for anyone of this nature to be bragging about being loaded, hey, more power to him.
I think.
