Jade Goody has revealed she has started going through the early menopause after undergoing radiotherapy for her cancer.
The reality TV star, 27, was diagnosed with cervical cancer in August and underwent a hysterectomy the following month.
After beginning a course of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, the mother-of-two has succumbed to early menopause.
Early menopause is a known side effect of radiotherapy because it stops the ovaries from working.
Speaking to New! magazine this week, Jade reveals how she has adjusted to going through the menopause at such a young age.
Jade also confirmed reports that doctors have given her a 50/50 chance of survival after learning the cancer has spread to tissue surrounding vital abdominal organs.
She said: 'I expected to get thin (after chemotherapy), but you don't. I'm going to be fat and bald.'
Jade has cited her mother Jackiey Budden as a pillar of strength throughout her battle with the disease.
She explained: 'My mum is my closest friend right now. My mum's amazing.'
Despite her prognosis, the Big Brother 3 star is looking forward to the future and hopes to marry on/off boyfriend Jack Tweed, who is currently serving time for assault.
She said: 'I love him and he loves me and we keep going back to each other.'
Jade has disguised her health problems from young sons Bobby Jack, five, and Freddie, four, because she believes they are too young to understand and would find it upsetting.
Describing her way of explaining her hospital visits to the boys, Jade said: 'They think I've got tadpoles in my belly and when I go to hospital the medicine makes the tadpoles go to sleep, which makes me tired. And when the tadpoles die, my hair falls out.'
Last month, she revealed she was planning her own funeral.
She said: 'Most people plan their weddings. But I'm planning my funeral.
'Some people say they don't want people crying, but I want people to cry over me!
'And I don't want anyone to have a booze up when I'm dead! They should have a cup of tea and be crying!', she said.
The full interview with Jade is in this week's issue of New! magazine, out today.

I had full on premature menopause/ovarian failure at 38. It had taken me 7 years to sucessfully to get and stay pregnant. Now in hindsight, what was thought to be luteal phase defect was really peri-menopause at 30. My kid was literally the last egg that I had left. My cycle never came back after she was born.
Wow...this is sad...:/
The brain doesn't need blood. It just needs to be kept wet.
chemo threw me into menopause at 46. 6 yrs later just when i think i'm at the end of it, i'm not.
my heart goes out to her with such a grim diagnosis, thats really gotta make it so much more horrid.
Well, the whore apples sure didn't fall far from the whore tree. Sylkyn
Wow, that is sad. And everyones response so far too. I'm sorry and wish you all good health.
I felt quite sorry for her until I read this

Why should she expect anyone to cry over her when she's not very nice to others?

Aww man, I hate this for anyone. How sad.
For the folks who had a menopause in their 20s and 30s, can I ask why? Was it cancer treatment? Besides issues with pregnancy, what was the effect on the body?
I wonder what access Jane had to medical screening and pap smears? Please note that I'm not making a case to blame her; if anything, I'm wondering if there's cause for medical malpractice? Not enough details here to put much together on that front.

in the UK smears are every 3 yrs max... can't cervical cancer be very fast?
Healthcare is free at point of delivery in the UK (we pay via a tax-type system); however she comes across as dumb as a box of rocks so might not have gone...
If she's gone and they scraped the right bit & didn't get a positive result or didnt' inform her... malpractise, however, they have to get the right cells and if its in the channel - well... its not going to get caught until its grown out...
Don't know this chick, but wish her good health.
But especially wish all the posters good health!! Sorry!
And this is why I pray we NEVER get national health care in this country
